need help with first liquid cooled system (in switch 810)

Hey this is my first post here and was wondering if I can get some help.​

[font=Verdana, Arial, sans-serif, Helvetica]I just got my white NZXT Switch 810 and I want to do my first liquid cooled loop in it.

i have done a lot of research and am pretty confident in what I am doing... I just need a little help with a couple of the liquid cooling components.

Here is the system:

cpu: i7 3570k

gpu: GIGABYTE GV-N670OC-2GD (a gtx 670 with the gtx 680 pcb... so i can use the gtx 680 water block because the gtx 670 is just too small and funny looking)

case: white NZXT switch 810

motherboard: Asus p8z77-v Deluxe

RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 (Model F3-17000CL9D-8GBXM)

ssd: Crucial c300 128gb (planning on upgrading)

HDD: WD black 750gb

psu: corsair ax750

Now for the water cooling parts:

1. I need help choosing rads... I want a 420mm (3x140mm) in the top with a thickness of at least 50mm (I read that the switch 810 has 15mm spacing for the screws and that one of the only rads that support this is the black ice rad, and that most 420mm rads have 20mm so i need to know if this is true and if so then I need a rad that has 15mm spacing)

2. for the bottom rad idk if i should just go for a 240mm rad or 280mm. I heard that some get problems with the 280mm and require modding.

3. at first i am not planning on doing push/pull (but i will be using high quality fans) (i am not too anal about noise unless it is way over the top)... i want to know if it's really worth going for push pull.

4. for the cpu block it's either the new plexy Ek block or the appogee HD (white)... opinions please.

Pretty much echoing the above witha few other details.

1. XSPC and Black Ice make fantastic radiators. Aquacomputer too, if you want to spend the money.

2. 240 Rad

3. Push/pull isn't worth it in a case like this. The temp difference is negligable and the added noise is more of a hassle

4. I'd go with the Apogee HD out of the two.

I have a similar build and I went with a 240x60 mm alphacool rad with noctua nff12s which are by far the best fan you can get for water cooling.

I have the 3770k with the XSPC raystorm on top and it is a damn good block.

1. Alphacool 240mm ut60 radiatior

2. nff12 fans in a push or pull config not in push pull not worth the money.

3. xspc raystorm.

4. if you are going to be putting in a second rad up top I highly recommend just getting a 360. The time you put into finding a good 140mm fans with good static pressure is difficult, that is what drove me to go with 120mm variants.

1. Why 420mm? It would make more sense to get a 360 rad, like an EX360 and have enough room for tubing and cable management in the roof. I really don't see any easy way to install a thick 420 rad without modding to the top, and if you wanted push/pull then you'd probably need fans on the outside of the roof. Honestly I'd say just grab a 360 rad instead of a 420.

2. For build consistency, I'd say stick with 120mm fans or 140mm fans, don't waiver between both sizes. Either get a 360 up top and a 240 on bottom (or front) or a 420 up top and 280 down bottom. You won't see much performance difference, maybe like 1C on average, between a 240 and 280 rad.

3. Push/pull has dropped my GPU idle temps down to 28C and my load temps down to 49C (from 53C), granted I've got three radiators and push/pull on all, so I don't know if it'll be the same for you. Push/pull is definitely a good idea if you can spare the room, though.

4. If you aren't estranged from EK, they sell white acetal tops for their Supreme HF blocks and 7970 blocks, so you can expect a white acetal top for the 680/670 full cover blocks pretty soon here. I would avoid the new EK blocks, I think the fogged up tops are ugly, but I love their older blocks. The Appogee HD isn't bad, it's a good block, but it really depends on your build.

PS. Yep, they've got white acetal tops for both their Supreme HF and FC680: http://www.ekwb.com/shop/blocks/block-spare-parts/tops/top-acetal-fc680-gtx-white.html and http://www.ekwb.com/shop/blocks/block-spare-parts/tops/top-acetal-supreme-hf-white-rev.html. I'd say those would look amazing in a white/(another colour) rig!
