So I have been using Altec Lansing VS2621s for about 2 years or so and the wire just ripped out. I am really not in the position to be buying some crazy uber expensive speakers. I want to spend less than $100/£54. I found these two:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0038W0NEU/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A22QGPQSJF923G

But if there is something better would like to know. Thanks in advance

How much are Corsair SP2500's as they are a nice 2.1 worth looking at

I would get those if I could afford them but they are $250/£156. I definitly cannot afford them anytime soon. I need to get tires for my car before winter. Damn thing is always ruining my fun lol

100 dollars is 62.54 BSP
If you can see clear to up the budget just a little bit, I have a set of these that are just awesome. They have nice cloth grills so they look better than the picture when covered.

Have you thought of a set of active monitors ? I've been using them ever since I've been using a computer, and would never change that. I'm using a set of Bheringer MS20's at the moment and for £80 they're great, they have a front facing second input, that is great for headset's that run via the inbuilt amp, it comes in handy so you can use the rear IO, and loose the front IO cable.

What's the difference between that and a 2.1?

Active monitors are basically just stereo speakers, that have a built in amp, so you haven't got a sub, but you can add one as long as that is also active, you just connect it to the sub output, on either the motherboard or sound card. If you check Tom's video out of the Microlab Solo 7c's it might help. I've actually got those too, and are awesome, I'm just waiting to get some stands, as when they wee on my desk they were rather large. Infact after watching Tom's video I ordered them within about 30 seconds of it finishing.

I believe Tom uses active monitors, but the KRK's which are up there with the best studio quality kit you can get, actually, I'd say about 90% of recording studios use KRK's. Here are what I'm currently using. http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/MS20.aspx

They seem quite big. I don't know where I'd put them lol. I do like the idea of active speakers but I'm not sure if I have the space or not

For the time being i got Logitech Z623's. From what I seen they were the best I could get for for my price range. In the future when I do a pc upgrade, Like a year, I will more than likely pick up some krk rockit 5's or audioengines not sure yet but I don't need to decide now. I just wanted something solid with good sound without going over $100. Thanks for introducing me to active speakers though. Definitely have me interested:D
Oh btw I know what you meant about the 7c's lol I just meant kinda all in all they are much bigger than what I'm used to
