Hello everyone! I just finished my 1st build about a week ago and so far I'm very happy with it's performance. However, I do run a EVGA GTX 570 tri-SLI setup and I figured I could get more out of my cards if I OC'd the CPU. Based on CPUID temps my CPU idles at around 25C on a liquid cooling loop I assembled (very nerve wracking doing this on a 1st time build
) so I think I have the thermals to afford this. I only want a medium OC of around 4.2ish range and I think 4.4ghz is as high as I rly want to go, don't wanna end up frying my nice shiny new processor. I've read in many cases you can obtain a 4.2ghz OC on a 990x by simply bumping up the multiplier to about 32 or 33 and leaving everything else alone. Yet, when I try this for myself, the system turns on but the monitor doesnt. I then have to restart the PC again and my BIOS tells me "Overclock Failed". I donn't really know why this is happening so I thought I'd turn to the experts. Can anyone help me with this issue? I'll leave system specs below
