need help on how to lower my cpu temps

Hello guys i need some help on how to lower my cpu temps my system specs are below

system specs:

cpu: core 2 duo e7500 3,7 ghz

motherboard: msi p45 diamond

memory: Kingston 2x2GB DDR3 PC12800 HyperX Genesis

cpu cooler watercooled 120 rad xspc rs120 push pull config

2x2 320 gb sata hard drive

collermaster 620 watt real power

system temps

core 0 core 1

idle: 42 34

max 64 65 (after 8 hours of prime 95)

i hope you guys can help me if you need to know anything else just post it

not a whole lot you can do really you could turn volts down a lil and see if its stable just to knock a few degree's off and you could put some artic silver paste on
 
id try and turn down volts now and go to as low till windows wont boot then put it back up a lil then prime test for about 15 min should be plenty for real world tasks
 
Thats about it dude, if the pump is running direct from the PSU then you are just at the limits of what you have. I had a 120 kit in recently and tbh they are not really up to overclocking IMHO.

yeah i know but i'm thinking about upgrading to a noctua nh-d14 i know it will fit in my cooler master cm-690 II

The Noctua will fit fine in that case. Or as Marsey says, stick a 240 in the roof.

I had a D14 in my cm-690 II and currently have two 240 rads in there, just so you know they can fit.
 
most say 65c is the max you should let them hit, i have seen mine go over 80c and as yet they are still fine.

as long as you have the intel thermal management on in the bios i wouldnt worry about temps unless you have stability issues.
 
I don't really see a problem with those temps unless you're wanting to push it further, how likely are you to put full load on the CPU for 8 hours?

Wolfdales run cool at stock speeds and mild overclocks (my old xeon ran fine passive with an old vapochill micro) but once you're up into the 1.4v+ range they're hot little things. Stick EIST and C-State on in the BIOS and see if they have any effect on your temps/stability.

Failing that, a 240 in the roof would definitely take care of it. The days when a single 120 was enough are long gone.
