Need GFX </budget>

In the End it goes like this:

The first digit represents the "series" and only really means anything if there is a massive jump. e.g. 8xxx or 9xxx

The second digit represents the aweSAMness of the card within the series. e.g. 8600 and 8800.

The third and fourth digits are never filled.

The letters represent how good the specific card is and consists of any of these (listed lowest to highest I think :p) GS, GT, GTS, GTX and Ultra.

Double post..

Was GS not lower than GTS?

Thanks :D

So this is the order of Nvidia

GS, GT, GTS, GTX, ULTRA

Is nvidia the best or are ATI better? and the ranks?

Mate you do not want to end up in that conversation. Well maybe on this forum you can but on other forums a war will rage. :p

I don't think I can answer this question.

It's hard to say either is "best", at times it's more a case of what u can find with the cash u have, then make a comparison.

ati seems to be dominant in the way the supply a wide range of cards from budget to extreme, nvidia seem to be only going for £200+ good cards :/ not saying there arnt any good sub 200 nvidias, coz theres loads, but ur probably likely to find an ati that outperforms it and/or is cheaper than the nvidia. once again just my opinion not necissarly 100% true.

the bigger number the better for ati lol.. 4830... 4850... 4870... 4890... and then 4870X2 like times 2... lol

You will defo get a better card for £30 if it is second hand.

Brand new cards won't be as good because they are new.

I did find a couple but watch how the other users of OC3D disagree with me. :D

Cards are OK just as long as you don't expect to be playing any demanding games. 8400 are made for watching movies really. I had it in my Samsung NPR70 gave me around 90-120fps on CSS with 1.8Ghz Dual core 2Gb ram.

Great card but nothing special.

All GS cards are failures @ gaming.
