hey peeps, need for speed world is now live

i have been playing it for a few hours,it is abit buggy graphic wise and the world is abit off but overall gameplay is good.

i had abit of trouble getting past the profile create screen and changeing settings but that may of been due to the server.

so far i have posted 3 bug reports and i have been e-mailed back quickly

World name -TOOLMAN

i hope to see you

I've been testing it in 2 of the closed beta sessions so far. I'm not tempted to try the open beta at all, didn't like the game one bit. It seems like a rehash of Underground 2/carbon but with a very multiplayer focus. Gameplay is shallow, AI dim, loads of bugs (more than I expected in a beta, very poor optimisation too) and nothing original to convince me it's going to be a good game. If it's your thing, great, but it seems a bit of a lazy cash in on an ailing franchise that is the 'old school' NFS titles. The latest version of Hot Pursuit looks promising though, and it came to me as no surprise that this was a result of the input of Criterion Games (Burnout series) who've made some brilliant arcade racers. Non the less, even that isn't totally original, though I think that won't stop it from being an enjoyable game.

it is a enjoyable game i thought it was good, but yes it is buggy i havent tried any BETA's this is my first.

they were having server issiues when i last tried and played it but i will keep checking.

also yes hot pursuit does look good.

played for 10 mins really dislike having to use the keyboard so i didnt spend much time but all the traffic was buggy dissapearing and reappearing infront of me

hmmm thats odd i used my straight off,i dident have to go into settings ither it just worked altho i only tried it when i was in a race.submit a report fella

Crap. Doesn't work at all. Can't change the graphics (crashes) can't connect to the server (crashes) and I think it's another of those games where you need to be connected to their servers for it to even work.

yer dude it has been happening alot it was relesed OPEN on friday and ironicly it was quite flawless (connecting) considering.

when you click launch it should say the status of thr servers

its crashin for me like alien 2 so ive unstalled it cant be bothered got loads of games i got from steam in the sales to play with lol

i no i bet by the time of me birthday the sale at steam will be off (BDAY 12TH)

Honestly there is just so much wrong with it that it's inexcusable. This isn't a beta it's a bloody alpha. I mean god, check this out and these were just the things I noticed trying to get it working !

Firstly on their website it says "We are experiencing unexpectedly high traffic on our servers". Firstly it's EA. So bloody traffic on servers should not be a problem in any way, shape or form.

Secondly, if there really is a problem pull the bloody download until it's fixed and save people like me from wasting 800mb of bandwidth.

So OK, onto the next part. You get it downloaded and you load it. "click update to update". OK, so I do. However, once they are installed? doesn't matter. It makes you press update every time you load it, wait for a minute or so and then says "no updates are available". FFS, can't they just code in a checker? why must you connect to a server every god damn time? Again, this isn't some little ant company this is bloody EA. A multi billion pound company.

So OK, after ages of buggering around you get in, GREAT !. Try to change the resolution - CRASH. Try again - CRASH. ETC, ETC.

Then you relegate your massively powerful gaming PC to playing it at 1024x768 which makes it look cack as it's a non native LCD resolution. But by now I was so annoyed I just wanted to see the game. Go to connect? crash. No reason, no rhyme just an error message saying "failed to connect to server". Why can't it do this in game? instead of making you repeat all the steps above before crashing again?

Like Stepster I have deleted it and like NFS Sh*t it's not going anywhere near my bloody computer. £30 for NFS Sh*t and it never EVER worked on my rig.

lol i have just been playing it for the last 40min,i am realy diggin it

i get you about the servers and i guess the update thing is becouse they are gna do on the fly updates maybe,i disconnected from the server 4mtrs from the finishing line, that was gash,i am at lv6 now woop woop

i wont buy it i will get hot pursuit tho

for one i really enjoyed shift i thot it was a happy medium is was no forza but it was kinda that happy middle between arcade and sim along the lines of grid but not quite as good

I didn't have the technical problems with SHIFT, but I just couldn't for the life of me make the cars behave like cars. They slip and slide and pivot all over the track, the game is impossible like that. I think it must be some sort of control bug because a lot seem to get on fine, and I've got loads of driving games and never had a problem like that. So I've only done about 2 races on shift, turned out to be a waste of money for me too, but for different reasons.
