Need Desktop Video Capture Recommendation

I have a game recording program Msi Afterburner. I love it! I do not have to start anything up. just hit my hot key and it records in great res.

But it does not record Desktop, or at least not any longer.

I am looking for something for recording desktop for tutorials and the like. I want something that can record in 1080, Quality program. easy to use. I would prefer something that you can turn on and off with a hot key rather than having to open the program every time you want to record. But if not, I can live with that.
I do not want any cheap ass clunky program. MSI is Free and before they updated used to work fantastic.

So free or pay to use, does not matter. I have no experience with any other programs than MSI. So with your experiences. What is THE program to get? Or list of a few of the best.

I used this to record my desktop for college work unit, its basic but has options to record a window, fixed area and things like voice and add screen shoots and its free.

Saves to avi but has built in converter to .swf

Heard Mirillis action is pretty good. Does about the same things as camstudio but has a nicer interface.
