ok so i got a gtx 580 matrix, BUT i wanna water cool the stupid thing , and there are no full cover blocks for it

SO i want to use a universal gpu block, but i have some questions regading the cooling of the rest of the card.

first heres a good pic of the card and its current cooling solution:

if you notice the only spot that the heat sink touches is the cpu itself, and the rest just gets the warm air flow from the fans after it passed through the heat sink. my question is if i use a universal water block and put fittings on it everything i think it will cover the memory chips on 'top' of the card (in respect to the pic ) i know about the little alimunium hs you can buy, but i think the water block+fittings+ hose might be in the way?

(for example)

what do you think? also if i do this i was planning on putting the fan shroud back on (some how) to get air flow for the rest of the components. is that over kill? or not enough or what? lol i don't know how much cooling the rest of the card needs since this current hs doesn't connect to anything but the gpu.

the long and short of it, i was think of replacing the aluminium hs with a universal waterblock.

any feed back is welcome, and thanks

These might fit underneath: Enzotech

And these for the other vrams: Copper Ramsinks

Mosfet heatsinks mosfetsinks

Having a fan blowing on the mosfet heatsinks is a good idea. Dunno if you are able to use the shroud after you put on the waterblock.

B NEGATIVE used the HF bridge edition w/enzotech low profile on hes 6870 gpus

I also think you could use som angle adapters (45 degrees)to help avoid them.

thank you for the reply, that picture is actually really good, i didn't know the HF bridge has that gap there

i will definitely consider this

but do you think i need to put heat sinks on anything else other then the memory chips? because i think the matrix has a heat sink on the mosfets already?

also about the fan shroud, i've seen one guy's mod (he use a h70 and zip tied it on his matrix and then used some plastic brackets to hold on the shroud...) i didn't like the look, so i think using this bridge i would just have to remove the LED part of the shroud and then i can even glue it to the water block if i have to, i think that'll look nature and having that extra airflow would be good
