Hi there,
I plan to make a new setup mostly for gaming, what do you think of this :

Maybe there's a recurring issue on a component, a better value somewhere else... Every opinion, experience or advice on any of these components is welcome!
• Where are you located?
France
• What is your budget?
~1600$
• Will you need a monitor, keyboard, and/or mouse included in that budget?
Nope
• Shall you be requiring an OS?
Nope, I plan to install Win7 Home Premium x64
• What will you be using this rig for?
Mostly gaming
• If gaming, what resolution will you be playing at?
1080p@120hz
• Will you be overclocking?
Yes but not to break records, just for the fun and to get a little extra juice.
• Do you need a full build or will you be reusing some old parts?
The GTX970 will be for my current build that I will give to my wife, I will retrieve my current GTX670 SLI for the new one because I think I'll get better performance with it. I'll switch for the GTX970 later when buying a second one a year or two later.
Although, I'd like to know how Crossfire behave compared to SLI?
At the time of buying my second GTX670, it seemed to be less developed than Nvidia, is the situation changed? Maybe I should go for Crossfire solution, as the prices are more attractive for ATI/AMD?
I choose this motherboard because I never had any issue with this brand on my current graphic card and motherboard, they apparently use more durable and efficient components without adding 12 supply phases.
I chose this MSI Graphic card in Overclocked version because it's just a little more expensive , but maybe you will tell me that it would be wiser to put that extra money on good thermal paste? I don't know how the one included with the Watercooling performs.
Regarding the watercooling, I already own a Khüler H2O 620 on my actual rig, but I want to take twice bigger (240mm instead of 120mm) as I found the difference with a good aircooling solution isn't so dazzling. A good aircooling is about 80€ and the watercooling AIO kit is barely more expensive, tell me what you think.
For the case, it is cheap, sober, compatible with the 240mm watercooling rad and I found the vertical drive holding design clever for the air flux. I hesitate with the Zalman R1 which has noise-canceling foam, that could lead to a heating problem.
For the SSD, I chose CRUCIAL because I already own two of this brand and it's reliable, I never had any problem despite years of use. I read that there was some issues with the Samsung EVO, so i'll stay away from this brand.
For the RAM, i focused on frequency rather than timings, as I read here and there that it was more efficient. I chose 16Gb because I want to to get rid of the virtual memory and be able to make a RAMDisk for some softwares.
For the power supply, I'm not sure if it is overdimensioned for SLI and a little CPU overclocking, I think it is safer to have some margin. I chose SEASONIC because the reviews says it has quality components, some japanese stuff apparently. I did not took it modular because it is more expensive and I don't need it.
As you probably noticed, english is not my native language, I hope it was not too painful to read.
Thanks for the replies!
