I seem to have not a lot of luck with choosing the default corsair PSU that most people recommend every where

Ok before I dribble on to much more my future system plans.

i7 2600

capable of running 2x 580's in sli or a GTX590

3x HDD's normally a SSD and a HDD.

4 sticks of RAM

Any way I had a look at Seasonic but the PSU's only go up to 850w, Is this enough for 2x580's and possibly future nVidia cards, I can not imagine they will use as much as a 580 I have a coolmaster 550w PUS keeping my system running at the moment as my 650w corsair PSU is being unstable but I read around and the higher end Coolmaster PSU's do not seem to be as solid as their lower end models. i would like a gold plus PSU but that's not a need.

Ok questions.

How much power do I need for 2x 580's in SLI?

What brands should I look at besides Corsair, I always have chosen corsair but would like to steer clear this time around.

Regards.

I've had a few Enermax ones over the years (modu 82+ version) - they're are all still going strong and very quiet as well.

The upper range of Corsair are fantastic if you want to future proof yourself totally have a look at the Ax1200 in the Corsair range

The AX1200 W is a beast.

Yes the ax1200 is a beast, but some would state this as overkill, but if we look at how efficient it is at 50-80% power, its 94%.

But then again it would only make sense for 24/7 use.

The ax850 is god enough for powering two gtx580,and oc`ing both gpu`s and cpu.For a high end build this would be first choise.

I have an XFX Black ED PSU.

It cost about £100.00 and really kick's ass for the money.
