Here's a few pics of a reasonably low-cost Corsair 650D computer build I did recently.
I'm quite pleased with it as a lot of the tech inside is quite old and has been recycled from an old system. Still, it looks pretty decent and performs well.
It isn't cutting edge, but it is clean and tidy, functional, and serves my needs.
Pics:
^^ This picture shows two things: (1) the Corsair 650D's stock fan controller cables, which have not been used and have been bunched/collected here, (2) the cables going to the used Lamptron FC5 V2 fan controller (3 x fan cables [coming from the left] + 1 x Molex power cable [coming from the right]).
^^ This picture shows how the stock PSU cables can be "pre-shaped" into a decent/useful shape before adding cable ties and/or before being added into the system.
Specs:
Case: Corsair Obsidian 650D
PSU: Corsair AX860 (Fully Modular)
Motherboard: EVGA P55 Classified 200 (P55 Chipset, Socket 1156) (Golden oldie)
CPU: Intel Core i7 870 (2.93GHz, Socket 1156, Quad Core, 8MB L3 Cache) (Getting on a little now)
CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro H60 + Corsair SP120 Quiet Edition fan (very decent for the money in my opinion)
RAM: 16GB (4x4) Corsair Vengeance Low Profile (Black)
Fan Controller: Lamptron FC5 V2 (Black)
Hard Drives: 3 x Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB (SATAII, 7200RPM, 16MB Cache) (Old, but have been very reliable for me)
Optical Drive: Sony AD-7241S-0B (Old!)
Card Reader/Writer: Akasa AK-ICR-07U3
Graphics Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 660 FTW Sig2 3GB
Sound Card: Sound Blaster Z (Retail model; red LEDs removed)
USB Card: StarTech USB 2.0 5-Port (4x External; 1x Internal) Renesas/NEC chipset Card (Downgrade from a very unreliable USB 3.0 VIA VL-800 chipset card.)
Cables Bought and Used:
* 4 x Sandberg 50cm flat plastic SATA 3.0 data cables.
* 1 x BitFenix 45cm Molex-to-SATA power cable (for optical drive).
* 1 x Lamptron 22cm Molex-to-Molex power cable (for fan controller). (Came with fan controller, but similar-length [typically 30cm] cables are available from Phobya and other companies.)
* 2 x Phobya 90cm fan extension cables. (Used to take fan cabling the "long way around" for the rear and top fans -- i.e., down the right, along the bottom, up the left.)
* 3 x Phobya 30cm fan extension cables. (Used to finally connect the 3 x fan cables to the fan controller.)
All cables from the Corsair PSU are stock.
Miscalleneous Items:
* 1 x carbon fibre rod, 5mm diameter. (Bought on EBay and cut-down to size. Used to prop-up my graphics card which sags uncontrollably otherwise!)
* Lots of cable tie mounts!
* Lots of cable ties -- mostly 100mm, plus some 140mm ties.
