yeah i know what you mean. Everyone knows PC World do a crap job, nice to see the proof for the media.
When i was the workshop manager at a small repair shop, i made it pretty clear that if i court a techy doing that, i'd sack them.
Didnt catch anyone doing it, but im pretty sure 1 or 2 of them would have.
Makes me glad that friends and family would normally come to me to fix any of their PC problems.
Also reminds me of my first job where the techies at a certain company (that's now bust) would do a *.jpg *.gif search of any hard disk that came in. Normally it was just to see if there was any pr0n worth having on there, but once they actually came across some illegal pics on someones PC and handed them over to the police.

i once fixed a gay gentleman pc and was required to move all the material to a back up location but before he started he did say "please if you are easily offended then i will find some one else".
When i explained to him there was no need for me to view his material and what he did in his spare time had nothing to do with me he then let me proceed with the job in hand. Needless to say i didn't see what he had and don't really see ppl pics or into on backup repair jobs.
As far as im concerned the quicker the job is done and the quicker the customer can take the item away the better.
But on the other hand while working for the police there were many engineers who did PC for work collogues and one came back after a PC repair on a so called collogues (female) system came in nearly gasping for air before he told every one in the office what he found was on her pc. I was not impressed at all and ended haveing a big argument with him about it and then lost my temper with him and ended up having to go home for the day to calm down.
Managers though it was funny what he found though.

I think if a paedophile is caught out this way then tough luck.
So there is two side to every coin to be honest.
