To be fair, anyone who trusts Apple to keep their files and file system intact and comlete are idiots. Since iTunes has existed there have been issues with the software doing as it pleases. It is all clearly written in the EULA.

Microsoft are as bad, read through the EULA and terms of service for Windows, you would be shocked at what they add without anyone really paying attention.

This story goes to prove one thing, keep anything you want to keep on a separate storage medium away from your PC. If anything goes wrong, you always have a backup. On that note, always store it on a physical medium, there have recently been several "Cloud based" storage companies going bust or being shut down, always a big risk giving personal files to a third party to store or have any form of control over.
 
Bit silly this happened but lessons can be learned here, Don't use Apple :lol: And always back up your treasured media.
