Not really a monster tbh. Switch out the 590 for P35/680i and the X2 for a C2 or C2Q and you got a monster..

I think it is pretty darn good! :)

Doubt you will find any game to match it..

Vader is just being a little.. uhm, Power hungry?

I hope we will be getting piccars!

its all good, if i was building a intel gaming system, id deffinately go with the setup you said though...

id probably be looking at a tagan 1100w instead so your future proofing.

No that's not good advice IMO, why?

1) All you need is a good 500W PSU in reality

2) In the future, things will be switching to smaller processes, this means in the future things will be using less power.

850w is way overkill for that system, so an 1100 would be a complete waste of time and money. Tagan make some sweet PSU's though and their support forum just happens to be here. Nice system though fadz23q :) Whereabouts in Australia are you from? I'm in Brisbane

no its not good advise if someone was building a normal machine but he wants to build the ultimate gaming monster so he is better going for as high as possible.

It doesn't matter. Our very own NickS ran the top of the line OCd gaming system stable on a 500W enermax.

yeah i know it will run fine but a 500w isnt really classed as being a high end psu a 850 is only just, if he wants people to be wow'd buy there specs then thats he only thing that could be upgraded if he wanted to like he says he wants it to be a beast not run of the mill.

Ay :eh: :eh: That 850W PSU would run 8800GTX's in SLI no problem at all, and even a lower spec'd PSU from a reputable manufacturer would still run it/them. A 750W PSU would have been fine....

If you still don't believe me, then perhaps Nvidia can persuade you

for the 3rd time as it says above i know that psu will do the job fine! i am just saying that as a ultimate gaming monster you want people to be wow'd by your specs and to do that as he wants the best he can buy then a higher psu would do the job

Well, if you want 'wow' factor ditch the oversized psu, amd mobo and proccy and get yourself a core2duo or quad core on a p35/680i as suggested...

I'm pretty sure you can pick up an e6600 for a similar price to that x2 6000+

Intel completely outperform amd at the moment so your money would be better spent with intel my man.

I hope you don't mind the suggestions as you seem sold on amd but trust me, intel is the top dog right now...

Also, I've never heard of anyone being wowed by psu wattage!!! :D

Whatever you decide on eveyone on here will be willing to help, if you need it :)

Oh, and welcome mate

Sorry but PSUs don't "wow" many of us.

They are just there to power the "wow" stuff, like an 8800.

n00bs tbh, and sorry but some people like myself wont go Intel no matter how much FPS gain you get from switching CPUs (5-10max).
