the first 2 are speed tests done 30 mins or so apart from each other and the last pic is a pic from my router - over 1 million error corrections on far end indicator CAN'T be good...........

oh well - sent these pics to nildram so they can have a quick peek at em - gotta wait till monday for em to even look at it :@

unfortunatly, its not a problem with the ISP.......its a problem with the line.

no matter WHO i go with, i still have to sort out the line.

I was on nildram ages ago before they got bought out, but I ended up quitting as soon as they got bought :( as the connection speed and ping was stupid.

I went to plus.net which was ok for a while, but totally messed up in the end I was getting drop-outs and authentication problems and the last straw was when they tried to charge me £55 or something to move house (even tho I kept the same tel number etc)

I had IDNet and got fed up (after 1.5months) with the 300+ms ping every night and never getting a ping below 40ms to UK servers even when it was stable (including the idnet hosted OC3D ones). I've seen a few posts on here about problems with them aswell :(

IDNet blamed: 1. my line, 2. my router, 3. my exchange, 4. BT

Now I'm on enta.net (on ukfsn) and I have no problems and really nice ping times. The download speeds are a lot better aswell.

Hope you get your problems sorted :( gets annoying when the ISP blames everything and everyone else.

Yes, but avengeruk (off idnetters) who has now rejoined found the same problem with enta.net - if not worse so in his case it was his exchange and hats off to idnet they are probably the best isp out there in terms of caring for customers - whenever i've had problems they have their upmost to correct it.

P.S. The pings were fixed a week or so after you left :p

Last time avengeruk msg'd me he had interleaving enabled on his line etc.

IDNet were ok at talking, but they didn't seem to do much and the ping problems took months to be fixed, while they were 'fixing' that problem they blamed everything they could aswell.

I'd say for customer support, they did a good job of talking to people and fobbing them off, but nothing more

Not sure the ping problem was totally sorted either, reading some posts by different people. Even a few threads on here, consequently IDNet blamed BT for those problems aswell

Maybe they are? The only way to find out is to work for BT, Cisco or idnet i would say

I'm just saying that I'm not sure how it could be BT, my line, my router (I tried 3) or my exchange when the moment I changed ISPs all the problems were sorted

What you need to remember is that IDNet are essentially at the peril of BT. If the high ping issues were down to their hardware they would have been straight down to their switches to sort them out. The fact that they had to get BT and Cisco engineers involved left them with no control over the problem and knowing BT - probably totally in the dark.

Never found that. Every time I got on the phone they actually pro-actively went and tried to fix whatever it was

Only Zen match their customer service imo

got a reply from my ISP

Good Afternoon,

Thank you for your email.

We have run some BT line tests on your line, and can see that one of the

tests has reported a fault on your line.

It reports that DSLAM access speed and B-RAS access speed profile are

inconsistent. We need to get BT to rebuild your profile at the exchange,

which should sort out any speed issue your having.

We have logged the fault to BT, and they now have 24 hours to get back

to us.

As soon as we have an update we shall get in contact with you. Please

leave your router powered on and linked up so that BT can do the

necessary.

Many Thanks
