My rig

Hi Guys,

I haven't posted here in a while, so I thought I'd introduce my new rig which isn't actually that new (I've had it for a good few months now).

Anyway, I'm a bit of an AMD fanboy and when the new X6 chips came out I just couldnt resist. I spent so much on the core components I didn't have enough spare cash for a case at the time, so used an old one I had lying about which is a real piece of trash, but it works.

I will however be modifying an old thermaltake Armour I have (which has certainly seen better days), and hopefully bringing some new life into it.

Anyway, the system consists of the following:

Amd x6 1090 @ 3850mhz 1.33v

8gb Corsair Dominator 1600, 8-8-8-24 @1.5v

Asus Radeon 5870 V2 overclocked,

120gb OCZ Vertex SSD,

Enermax Modu87+ 500w PSU,

250gb Data Drive,

Asus Crosshair IV Formula.

A few glory pictures (sorry for quality, I took them on my phone as SLR was too much of a faff):

I also purchased 3 Dell 23" screens, got a fantastic deal on them from the forums

Got them running in eyefinity ready for F1 2010

CPU temperatures are pretty good considering the clock, but the GPU gets pretty toasty

What do you think? I can't wait to get my hands on the Armour!!

Can I ask that last suggested person for an i7 build too???

Nice little set-up luigi. Some good components in there.

Leave the case alone, that normally sits in a cupboard under the desk never seeing the light of day............ tell me it does Luigi please god tell me it does

Nice setup, crosshair iv is the first board I've had where everything just slotted in and went, no mucking about with wierd blue screens etc. and such a joy to OC with. I'm really jealous of the hex core goodness going on there. Looking forward to seeing the new case.

I think louigi needs to talk to unclefathersantalogan about a case LOL

I may well have to in that case...

it's a wonderful board to work with, it really is. It overclocked my chip straight to 3.8ghz and I've had no problems with it what so ever.

Fortunately the 3 screens get most of the attention so it can go largely un-noticed..

That's a great setup you've got there. I love the specs and I'd love to have 3 screens like you have there, but that case doesn't do any of it justice!
