My New Area(s)

My new chill area - the finished part of the basement. Downgraded, well, sold the main rig. Rocking the 2nd rig as the main rig now - X2 3600+ @ 2.1, but with an 8600GTS instead of a 7600GT. 2GB of G.Skill 2GBHK, etc.

Ordered the TV Sunday, came Wednesday from CircuitCity.com. Cost $479 + $28 Tax & $5 for 3 Day Shipping, total came to around $533. The TV stand is from Target, went and picked that up for a hair over $44 after tax. The lamps I got from WalMart, the desk and the corner tower lamp, for about $38 after tax. We already had some of those swirly fluorescent CFL bulbs, 14w for 60w brightness FTW.

Room stays nice and cool, being in the basement and all. That combined with the low heat output of my "new rig," it should rock during the summer. Nice and big for me and friends to vedge. My bedroom, as you can see, now has my little student desk in it with my old Compaq rig with a AXP 2600+ and 512MB DDR. Simple web surfing rig for up there. It's nice to have a PC in your bedroom still for the morning before I leave for school, or night when I'm winding down. Anyway, I hope ya'll like my new setup - I sure do.

LOL, thanks guys. If it's up to me, it'll stay organized and clean. It's a lot easier to keep it clean with all of this space. :)

Nice clean area Nick, like it. Chairs exactly like mine :D

Gotta love the PS3 :p

Thanks kempez, sweet, same chair FTW. PS3 is win indeed, I love the thing. Watched Full Metal Jacket earlier in BluRay, and now I'm playin GTA IV!

Thanks :) While I wish they were black as well, they cost way too much and sound way too good for it to bug me. :D

Just noticed something, does that room not have any skirting board or is it just me that noticed it?? XD

OR, is it just us brits obsessed with the bloody stuff? I must say, i do like a nice bit of pine or walnut lining my walls on its lower extremeties neatly marking out the borded between wall and floor. Also handy for tucking wires under that are running around the room. LAN FTW!!!

A molding along the bottom? Haha, na it doesn't. The carpet is tucked so it forms like a... idk, it sits flush and tight with no rough edges up against the walls - at least thats what the installers said its called, "tucking" it. The rest of the house has moldings, though.

Total slickness verging on professional tbh.

If u bought a fridge for the room, it`d cap it off for me. (I`d wreck it within days with pc gear all over the place tho) Still loving that desk - and the chair is pretty popular ;)

Gotta impress too.

gotta agree with that, skirting board FTW

and coving for that matter :D

EDIT: and picture rails :D

Oh yesh, even those little edge pieces on the coving, mmmm....

God you guys would have a field day with the rest of my house - all the moldings and trim work are hand made. One of the nice things about owning a house built in the mid 1920's.

Theres a neat shot of part of the wood carved opening that goes around the entrance to my livingroom from the foyer.

DUDE!!!

I love anything hand carved and traditional. thats some nice looking coving/moldings you got there.

Fancy having someone over to stay? (ME?!?!?!) ha ha ha

I have artex (its some weird stuff some arse invented instead of wood chip wallpaper to cover crap ALL over my walls in some dumbarse pattern. takes about a week to completely paint a wall. XD

Thats some seriously *s*w*a*n*k*y* place you have there my friend :o . You live alone? or is personal life something i shouldnt ask? :nono:
