My first watercooling rig (da2ca)

Your rig internally looks real sweet after the new changes da2ca. One question though - what's up with all the bubbles in your res?

Very, Very good question and i do not have an answer. It was something i was going to ask on here about but have not got around to it.

These bubbles appeared after the last rebuild. I used new F1 coolant and added the new pump. I am thinking it may be the pump is to powerful for my setup? As (i have added a better picture) the return water is really churning up the surface water in the res.

Does filling the res up not help? Buy one of those whirlpool stopper things.. that go between the intake and outtake...

I was told to leave space for expansion. The stopper is for a different res. This res doesn’t suffer the whirlpool effect as the return comes in via a 100mm long pipe within the res. Its just that the return goes through this tube through the rest of the res and breaks the surface like a geyser.

really really nice dude, it looks so much better than a first attempt :D

I don’t know if i really should call it a first attempt now as its been modified over the past few months with bits being changed/updated as i go. I thought rather than starting a new thread i would just update this one. I will look at updating the title of the thread, but i think a mod will have to do that.

Thanks for your kind comment.

Dave.

I dont think you need a gap that big.. Ive left about 1cm at the top of my res.. And i ve never noticed it change as as the computer is running.

200mL of water at room temperature will only expand to 208.31mL at 100C

Feser one is a bit different...but I wouldn't expect a drastic deviation

No problemooo... Take a pic of the res when you have topped it up? Sweet looking rig mind. Wish i could be arsed to make my cables tidy

Undo the top of your EK res after it's been running a while.

@ da2ca: Feel free to fill it almost to the top and your issue will go away.

You still get bubbles? :S wtf lol.. That must be one powerful pump.. Have you tried cutting down the tube?
