What's up OC3D. Last night after 1 month of trying to make my 1st water cooled rig perfect i finally finished it. It's been together and apart at least 3 times but now i am DONE! It's time to actually use it :) Down the road i plan on adding another 7970 but for now there is no need as it simply maxes out anything i throw at it.

Here is a full blown spec list:

Case - Corsair 650D Powder Coated Orange with few mods in order to fit 360 and 240Rad.

Motherboard - Asus Sabertooth x79

CPU - Intel Core i7 3930k

GPU - ATI Radeon 7970HD

PSU: XFX PRO850W XXX

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB @1600mhZ

HDD: ocZ Vertex 3 120GB and Western Digital 1TB Caviar Black

Asus DVD Drive

All Black Cable Sleeving

Water Cooling:

XSPC Raystorm CPU water Block

Swiftech Komodo Full VGA Waterblock

Danger Den Reservoir

Swiftech MCP655 Variable Speed Pump with full Bitspower mod kit

2x Delta 120x25mm @ 4000RPM

Black Ice GT 240MM Radiator

XSPC RX360Radiator

3 x Scythe Ultra Kaze Fans

A mix of Bitspower and XSPC Compression fittings

Black XSPC Tubing 1/2ID and 3/4OD

White Lighting including NZXT Whiter Sleeved LED Strip and a White Cold Cathode.

Right now i'm really happy with the system i had to do a lot of revisions as i was not happy with the temps. Right now i'm sitting at stable 4.6GHz @1.34vcore on the processor @ about 30-34 idle temps and about 55 full load. The gpu now stays at cool 33 idle and 40-44 full load overclocked at 1.2v core clock @1125mhz memory clock @1575

Here is a link to a short youtube video as well as some pics. I kind of wish i knew how to do some expert photography to really show it off but i think these will suffice. Please let me know what you think

The 3930k at 5ghz was stable on prime 95 for 5 hours with max temps around 85 on the hottest core. But i didn't want to continue as i will never run that cpu at those voltage. Right now i'm running 100% stable at 1.35vcore and 4.6ghz

Would have been a lot nicer if the roof rad was the other way round? As at the minute it looks like all tube. And do you really need that optical drive.. its a right eye saw.

I tried and it was a no go. The rad goes almost all the way to the front of the case so the fan controller and and optical drive get in the way.

I need how else would i put the cd's into my system?

I would rather have a usb DVD drive on my desktop or in a draw for the very odd time that I would need it. My laptop and desk do not have optical drives and I haven't needed to use a CD / DVD for my pc since I stopped playing bf2142.

Optical media is soon to be obsolete get with the times man.

And whats that thing in the last pci slot? Does that have to be there?

The small thing is a small board for the led light strip.

You know ever since i had my first computer i always had cd dvd drives so i havent given it much though and pretty much felt i HAD to have one. I was so concentrated on making this thing as clean as possible ie cable routing tubing etc. At one point i was like damn i wish i didnt need that ******* cd drive as it was in my way but never has it crossed my mind to just get external one :o. It's ok whenever i decide to some small upgrade i will for sure get an external drive. Sometime around Christmas i will most likely add another 7970 and who knows what else i will want. But i've been out of computer for almost a month as i was working on it and sold my gaming laptop. For now i will enjoy my system and then in few month work on it some more. I also have a few ideas on making the case half life or rammstein themed which will require some more modding but that's later
