My first SSD.

I just bought a Samsung 840 and installed a clean copy of windows on it and my usual programs.
It's my first SSD so I don't know if I have to change some settings inside windows or something.

Also i benched it with CrystalDisk and it scored 431Mb/s read 254Mb/s write. Is that normal cause Samsung says that it does 540 read. I know you never get what is on the box but hey, that's 110Mb/s slower than they say.

enable trim in windows its just somthing you need to do if you are unsure on how to do it here is a link, it may not improve your speeds.

Windows did that for me. I think it did everything because defragmentation is also disabled.

It's pretty normal for the OS drive to be a little slower than the 'rated' specs I find. I have two 256gb 840 pros, one with OS and one with 'stuff' and software. They come up with different scores usually with the 'stuff' drive being marginally faster.

Oh, didn't know that about ssd's. Doesn't mind it though I still find it blazingly fast.

Cant beat a good SSD.

YES! As an upgrade from my ancient spinpoint I'm just astonished.
I love it!
