My first gaming rig

So i've been building some rigs for a couple of my friends and i finally gathered the money for my own rig.

The build itself is nothing special but i am making a full dash for the mantle API and therefore this build is all red team.

The colorscheme is based on the motherboard and i hope to get the blue accents to pop with a white LED strip

Partslist:
CPU: AMD FX8350
MOBO: Asus M5A99FX Pro 2.0
GPU: Gigabyte 280x
RAM: 8GB G. Skill Sniper 1866mhz
Cooler: H100i
SSD: Kingston SSDNow v300 120GB
HDD 1TB WD Caviar Blue
PSU: XFX Core pro 750w (non-modular)
Case: Fractal design Arc Midi R2
LED: NZXT white LED (1m strip)

All the parts except the case:

So while i am waiting for my case here are some pictures of the out of case testing:

(Don't worry i am not using the stock cooler for the final result ;)

AAAAAAND IT LIVES!!:

The non modular psu will be a challenge :P.
otherwise nice spec, very similar to mine in terms of cpu/gpu.

Well i wanted to have lights when i'm going to have a window and i remember something about TTL saying that just putting colored LED's in there would kill the mood :)

Exactly, white lights will make your blue accents pop out of the dark background more while blue lights would just make everything look blue :)

Why did you not get a modular PSU though?

I'm subbed curious to see what this build will bring. I'm always hesitating when it comes to lights, it's such a delicate balance between nice and horrible imo :)

The psu is actually one i got from a friend of mine when he recently upgraded to a RM850. The unit itself is only 5 months old, and since he let me have it i figured it would be better for me to get this and then be able to put more money into a 280X instead of a 270x :)

Yeah im really stoked to see the result too. Fortunately the LED's have 3 brightness levels so im hoping that will help balance it out :)

edit:
**Plot twist**

So the vendor i bought the case at decided to send me a non-window version so the pictures of the finished product has to wait for a bit. I was planning on building today guess that'll have to wait for a bit :/

Worth saving the money to get a higher end GPU imo. The only thing about the PSU is the modular side but other than that it is good so do not worry about it. Nice specs though for a first gaming rig!

*Update*

Just got of the phone with the vendor and they are sending me a new sidepanel, so i don't have to send the case back (YAY!!) I can finally start throwing parts in the case instead of having them in the boxes :)

Lucky you! Are you sending the original side panel back to them? Like a crosshipment or are they really just sending another for free?

They are sending me another sidepanel free of charge and i don't have to send the solid one back :-) Great service if i say so myself

Anyway here are some shots of the finished deal from the business end (trust me. you don't wan't to see the back of the motherboard tray anyway)

hey buddy love this build have got this case myself i have a pic of the back of the mobo tray in my build log on the rig gallery check it out took me about 2 hours to get wher ei did lol

Okay now i'm getting a bit annoyed. So the vendor called fractal design and they sent me a new panel... For the Arc midi -,- Guess i'm back on the phone with them later today

Nice Build bud! Looking at something similar myself.

I'm not 100% sure, but with the window/side panel i thought the arc midi v2 came as a windowed case (they didn't officially release an arc midi v1 with a window) The arc midi v2 (As far as i know) wasn't available without a window. Anyway, i hope it helps!

Yeah that's what i thought too. But i am patient. I guess that'll make appreciate the final result even more :)

That's cool, If anything it's a great case&you have some very nice parts packed inside it :p Can i ask (just to make sure) on the front panel/bezel can you click it for the dust filter to come out, or do you have to remove the entire panel? (the v1 you have to remove the front panel, v2 you can click just the dust filter out)

Very nice build though man! :D

You press each of the top corners and the filter pops right out. No need to remove the frontpanel. If you have any questions about the case you could watch TTL's video on it :)

Ah that's cool man, i was just wondering as you got sent a non windowed side panel :) I too have an arc midi v2 ;) Although yet to order my parts as yet (i procrastinate :p) will be AMD aswell as you :)

nice build mate. consider turning the rear exhaust fan around for positive case pressure, it will help with dust build up
