My first build I7-950

Yeah, I wasnt liking over 70 myself, but I knew that the software is a little viscous. I'm going water, forget air. Already got this cooler sold. It was a good one while I used it, but it's not going to cut it for 4.0+.... Will be under water in 2 weeks.

Yes,there should be plenty of room in the haf x for watercooling.

So I finally found a stable clock by increasing the Voltage to 1.2165 She runs just fine, Did not increase my temps any while running prime or LinX. Ran prime for 30 mins again. Also done another 20 passes with LinX. Played games for a few hours. No problems. Think I'll try the benchmarks now. Check my sig

Well done bro

Next step is 2000 on rams, but some extra volts is needed there on the cpu, and uncore must be set to 4000, and qpi-volts or vtt-volts,whatever its called in your bios is to be increased in the red-zone.

But with wc it will be a bliss

Small update. Just ordered my watercooling system... Cant wait. I'm running a stable overclock everday at 3.8 till I get the watercooling, just to be safe. All though differences in temps with my 4.0 sig setting are only 2*C different. But 3.8 allows me to run the ram at 2006 mhz. So. Hopefully within 2 weeks, I'll be running 4.0+ everyday. Then to start folding for the redline team. Plus my 6970 will be under H2O as well. that'll help alot. Thanks guys for all the help and wisdom. Will post updates after the leak test is done, lol.

Done a little playing around the other night just to learn my chip a wee more. Tweaking the mem has been as much fun as the initial overclock. Can't wait to get home tonight. Folding is very near. Should be finished setting it all up tonight. By the way... 1.23v and running 4.0 all day on prime. Core average of 68* max. Thanks again OC3D.
