Hi Guys

Yeah i'm abit of a late starter when it came to overclocking, anyway I have got a 4ghz overclock..... My RAM is meant to be able to run at 2000mhz, but I could only find an option for either (1605 or 2005 so it went on 1605.....

Could you have a look at the screen shot below, and see if everything is ok, or if I need to change anything

Any help would be great, cuz I am a kinda n00b at this

Thanks

i'm also a noob at this, but looking at ur temps, did you stress test? it looks more like idle only temp. maybe run prim95 for a while and see if its all good?

I have done yet, just wanted to know if the settings were good before I did.....

Just looked at someone elses overclock, and they have a smack on 4ghz OC whereas mine is 4009ghz, cuz the bus speed is 200.5..... is this ok?

Also I can't seem to figure out how to get the RAM MHZ up (In the BIOS the DRAM is set to 2005, but in CPUZ, well see below:-

Does Prime95 always MAX out the CPU Usage, cuz I left Prime95 on for about an hour, hour-half, when it started CPU usage was 100%, now I have come back to it, its only 50% is this right????

i dont think so... just let it fold for a while oh and ur ram is running at 2005Mhz dont worry about it i think cpu z displays half of ur speed cuz my ram runs @ 1600 but cpu z reckons its 800

Something is wrong with your oc.

The R3E is clocking a little higher than normal, wouldnt worry about it

This is the one thread,i learned oc`ing from.Specs are a little different than yours, but is valid for any socket 1366 i7-9xx.

Linx is also a good little program for stability test.Use 1024mb ram,20 run. When its finished without failing, try all ram.Or just use all ram from start. Right-click icon,it need to be run with admin rights.

That CPU should do around 4.6Ghz under Water i used to run my 990X @ 4.9Ghz 24/7

hi hayley

if you are using air (D14) then that OC is great.

remember: an i7-980X @4GHz will beat most other CPUs for performance at the same speed

well done on your 1st decent OC

Cheers Fella:)

OK so my settings are as follows:- (Any changes I need to make Please let me know)

Ai Overclock Tuner - Manual

2D Performance Boost - Disabled

CPU Ratio Setting - 20.0

CPU Turbo Power Limit - Disabled

C1E Support - Disabled

Intel Speed Step - Disabled

BCLK Frequency - 200

PCIE Frequency - 100

DRAM Frequency - DDR3 2005mhz (RAM Timings are:- 8.8.8.24)

UCLK Frequency - Auto

QPI Link Data Rate - Auto

Load Line Calibration - Auto

CPU Voltage - 1.290 - 1.303

CPU PLL Voltage - 1.812

QPI/DRAM Voltage - 1.224

DRAM Bus Voltage - 1.654

IOH Voltage - 1.111

IOH PCI Voltage - 1.508

ICH Voltage - 1.111

Does this all look right?

Hay

they are okay, but as QPI and LLC are set to auto - the system clocks will drop when idle

if this is what you are after, then great

crank it Hayley hehehe well once ya get a hold on it

go for the gold like I did managed just under 5.3 on my 2600K now thinking about water cooling so I can push higher.

but looking good so far keep us up on it.

PC noramlly stays on 24/7, but am guess thats not a good idea when Overclocked?

too many people were given money trees

i want one!!!

yeah let me know where they handing them out at I need one as well lol I have to sell parts to buy more lol

Hayley the fun is seeing what ya can get out of it and then backing down to a decent 24/7 oc. My 2600K did almost 5.3GHz but for 24/7 I have it at 4.5GHz
