I am running the SMP CPU Client from the stanford website, the flags i am using are -smp 4 -advmethods

My GPU runs at about 75 - 85c

Use -smp 12 because you have a 6/12 core.

thats normal of the 480's fella thats just the way they are,your only option is to watercool them

its not a 480 (they are in my main rig) I built a folding rig with a GTS 250

hmm that is quite high,but saying that they are practicly at 9800gt+ so its normal

if they are sitting at 90c+ then worry also what is the fan speed,try setting it to 60 or 70

Ok, I reckon card in slot 1 and 3, the 16x/18x won't slow it down at all.

Did you have them in 1 and 2? Have you checked the card for dust/dirt in the heatsink?

Sorry I messed up in my folding rig I have the Gigabyte GA-EX58 UD3R, I also have the UD5 so might swap them round at the weekend, I forgot which one I had put in the system

The UD3R only has 2 GFX PCI - express lanes, So I did have the cards in 1 & 2

The fan speed is a 69-70% in that last one....... not 35%

Was thinking of changing my mobo's over this morning to the UD5 but the last PCI-express lane will be right in the bottom of the case, so no airflow for the card I put in there.

Is it worth it???
