My dedicated folding rig :)

nice, I've almost gathered my own folding rig together from my old rig pieces, will get my present Athlon II x4 640 when I upgrade, then just needs a small SSD or flash drive for OS

Right guys, a little but awesome update i thinks

Everyone was saying how little the Asus P5K SE looked
laugh.png
i agree it is tiny but now i have a replacement for it.

The Asus Striker II NSE.

Its the same as the Striker II Extreme that i had in my first ever custom rig, love this board to bits

Brand new, never used. Only cost me £50, these boards are still going for over £100 used.

The main thing, is the three pci-e slots and more room for overclocking the Q6600, which the P5K SE is not good at.

Will try and find time to the board up and running today if i can or sometime over the weekend

That board looks amazing!

Ahhh, 775... Funny really that this is an 'extra', spare rig dedicated to folding and the motherboard is actually a higher spec one than the one in the box down at my right.
smile.png
Really need to upgrade! Anyway, good work; am looking forward to some pics with all 3 PCi-e slots occupied.

I would love one of those boards

Been looking for this for over 4 months, twice every week
laugh.png
, there where a few on fleebay but the postage was high and many owner damaged the cpu socket. Finally found one

Your rig is pretty awesome spec'd

Probably looking to get a few gt430's or similar gpu's for 3 pci-e slots since they are quite cheap

very impressed with your dedication.

Ive just started folding about 1week ago and im hooked
smile.png
stayed over my girlfriends last night so had the chance to run the rig all night, i have

the same problem you had, the folding rig is my only rig so if i want to game ive got to pause the folding which is no good. So just like you have

done i will be putting together a budget rig just to fold on, so ill be entering competitions everywhere for hardware prizes and also stalking ebay

for awesome bargains.

Anyways, well done dipzy, keep Folding dude

Being able to fold on the dedicated and game on the main rig has made it easier for me to both things rather than one or the other, plus when I'm not gaming, i fold on main rig as well, contributing more
smile.png

I do the same as well on gumtree and ebay as well as entering competitions
laugh.png

What kind of hardware do you have in mind for your folding rig?

Look forward to seeing your rig once completed

Happy Folding

An AX850 for that rig! my AX750 cost me £130!

That's a bit expensive for a AX750, spent £129 for my AX850.
I'm going to be upgrading this folding quite a few times and may look into getting some 580's now that they are going cheap on fleebay.

One thing that has happened lately is that when i turn the folding rig on, it brings up the error CPU FAN failed, i know this is because i'm running the CPU heat sink fan of molex at 12v. Need to find the setting in bios and disable it.

Thats because I bought from Aria. Who are s**t. I will never use them again after the trouble I had with them and now my friend has had the same issue. But that's another story lol. And you got a good deal where was it from?
