My computer won't boot

Seriously, are you going to switch the ram into the right slot or not?! Do it and get back to us.

I already said that I did that, now I'm reassembling the computer so I can try to start it again. Sorry if that wasn't clear.

Okay I tried to start the computer again, it still won't start. Now the Dr. Debug shows the number 30 and according to the manuel 0x30 - Reserved for ASL ( See ASL Status Codes section below)

In the ACI/ASL checkpoints section it says:

0x30 - System is waking up from S3 sleep state.

I have something I have to do now, so I won't be able to respond until in 3-4 hours.

Thanks for all your help so far, it is much appreciated

I'm back now, does anybody know what "System is waking up from S3 sleep state." means or how I would go about fixing it?

Thanks

only thing i can really suggest is to clear BIOS :/

S3 is a sleep state that puts the computer into sleep mode no idea why it would be doing it if you haven't set it to do so though

Turn your PC off and then press and hold the "clr CMOS" button on the back panel under the 2 PS2 ports for 3 seconds then reboot.

that should do it if not

remove the power lead from the PSU and then press the power button to make sure all the power is gone and remove the big watch battery on the motherboard for 10 minutes then plug everything back in and power the pc on

Thanks I'll try that, I'll get back to you.

I tried the holding the "clr" CMOS" button and rebooting 2 times, it didn't work it still says 30.

So I tried taking out the battery from the motherboard for 10 min, no changes.

Thanks for all your help, but I think I'll pay someone to fix now, I'm in way over my head.

Well at least I have learned a few things, take care.

Okay I took the computer to a guy I know who works with computers, He figured out that it was the Motherboard which did not work.

Some of those little golden doohickeys where the CPU should be placed was bended out of place, he was not able to fix it, so I'll have to get a new motherboard.

Do you guys have any recommendations? (hold it cheap, since I have already paid for 1 motherboard and I'm low on cash)

My old motherboard was a Asrock P67 EXTREME4 S1155 SATA6

Thanks

How much money are you working with? When you placed the CPU, did you use any pressure? Because you shouldn't and it should drop into place?

I would prefer if it was around 600-700 DKK which is roughly 110 USD or 80 euro.

And no I think I was pretty careful when I put in the CPU, it's no like I forced it down. But it won't be a problem the next time, cause I won't do it myself.

Where do you buy from usually in Denmark?

I bought all parts for my computer from different danish websites, I just assumed the price was about the same everywhere.

sites like

http://www.computersalg.dk/

http://www.elgiganten.dk/

But you don't have to think to much about it, it was just if you knew a card from the top of your head, I'll figure it out myself.

This might possibly be my last reply, so thanks for all your help and all your time

Just pick an Asus, MSI or Gigabyte P67 board that fits your budget. There are plenty at your price range
