Not impressed... gonna look how the termal paste spread, then I'll update you guys again

EDIT: Do you guys think I should keep it on, and then the termal paste will spread correctly?

Ones i installed my Noctua D14's i wiggled (put a bit of pressure on top) it a little to spread the paste correctly on the surface,

what thermal paste are you using mate the one that comes with it ?

needs a bit to settle in...

It wasnt fully spread, so I put a tiny bit more, but it's still hitting 80°C. The D14 can't handle 1.4v njee njeee

Still better than the NH-U12P SE2.

Lets hope it settels in and gives me getter temps =)

You either have really hot chip or something is going wrong with your cooler. Post back with some temps after you have been testing for a while.

Hmmm I don't get that. Running 1.35 to 1.36v , 4.7GHz on the Sandy and my max temp was 68C running Intel Burn Test about an hour after fitting.

My last rig was an i7 950, at 3.8Ghz 1.29v with a Frio it hit 73C max.

Are both your fans working ok, did you use the cable to limit their speed or just the Y splitter?

Give it a day or two, the thermal paste will take a couple of days to cure, but still, 80c seems a bit high. How are you applying the thermal paste, use the pea sized amount in the middle of the cpu method if you're not already

Already done it... I'm testing 3.8GHz @ 1.34v, it's hitting 70°C

looks like I have a hot chip.

8800GT SLI, how come you ditched the 470 for them?

Even if they're better performing in SLI (which I don't know if they are or not) you've lost DX11.
