multi monitor or 1 large

I don't have my pc built yet but I am currently using my ps3 and xbox 360 on a 22inch 1080p monitor and truthfully I hate the small size of the 22inch to the point I have used my 32inch tv from the bedroom (hd ready 50hz).

so I thought should I
A) pick up another 2 monitors same size =£140 give or take minus the sales

B) hit asda or tesco and pick up a 32nch full hd telly on sale for £200 mark

the multi monitors do worry me as it means higher res and I'm only using a 7870 plus unsure if the black boarders would be a put off

the tvs I have looked at are only 50hz and have "heard" mix things

I will state I very rarely play online FPS games unless you count left for dead and nazi zombie 2 I wont be playing bf4 or titan fall, I am not after higher res 1080p is the absolute max ill go.
I also don't care about frames per a second or "ultra" settings

whats are your views on this?
I have looked at larger monitors but they are very pricy

*if I did get tv I would still keep my monitor

50hz is pretty poor and you'll end up with screen tearing, bad refresh rate sync. I'd stick to monitors for PC gaming.

I'd go for multi monitors mate. When I got back into pc's from consoles about 18 months ago, I was short of funds so I went with a 32" LED 1080p TV, then about a month later I was given a 22" 1080p Asus monitor, and since then I realised it was a big mistake going for a TV.

There was such a big difference in picture quality, the Asus wasn't anything special but, still a big undeniable difference. It didn't take long for me to save to buy 3 matching monitors, and the difference has been like night and day.

Once you've used triple monitors you get used the the black stripe and bezel in a matter of hours, maybe not even that long, you'll find that in gaming your focused so much on what you are doing your brain kind off, doesn't register, that they are there.

If at all possible try and make sure that all 3 monitors are the same, my cousin has 3 monitors but all 3 are different, the one is even on beer coasters to make up the height difference, it just looks awful, no matter what he does with the picture settings the picture just looks terrible.

The 7870 will struggle with eyefinity. Then again it would also struggle with 1440p.

If you can't upgrade the GPU a 32" 1080p telly will probably give the best experience. Here's one which is 60Hz.

I also haven't a slightest clue where you get best deals on tellies in the UK so I just linked Amazon.

cheers for the info, Id rather not go down the multi monitor route, had a look at a set up n a local store and I didn't like it, found the boarders very distracting

Without trying to rub in the fact these are all ignorantly out of your budget so far for my 'away' (university) setups i've had:

1. a single 21.5" 1080p Alienware AW2210 + 16" laptop
2. a 32" IPS 1080p Panasonic E30 with two AW2210's
3. three AW2210's
4. a single Dell U2713HM 1440p IPS

I've used all 3 with both my PC for UHD gaming, PS3 at 720p and just for watching TV. Don't get me wrong they've all been great setups but stay away from TV's, they only work when your far away! Even a sweet £600+ IPS Panasonic doesn't come close to looking at a relatively average monitor, the pixels just aren't packed right plus the coatings and brightness aren't really suited for close viewing. The productivity and shear real estate of triples is nice but it's completely wasted when you just want to watch TV or play console. If I were you I would sell up and then go with the strongest 1080p monitor you can in whatever size works for you. Neither Triples or TV is the way forward for general purpose gaming/tv/browsing.

what is this madness.
connecting a television to a PC for anything but movies should be a cardinal offence. your GPU won't bother about the higher res because you will not play games across two screens. you play games on one of the screens while using the other one for browsing/documents/skype/TS/etc..
i use two monitors and i still feel like i don't have enough space to display everything i want to display, the only reason for why i don't have a third one is that my desk doesn't allow it.

You've got to remember that with most monitors that show a supper slim bezel, still have the internal black line inside each side. Like my AOC's they have a 1.5mm bezel but a border of about 8mm.

I think it looks much neater to have a border than a bezel.

Hmm, I currently own a the 22inch aoc at 1080p and sits on a desk that is big enough to fit say 52inch tv and still enough space for my itx system lol.

Once my pc is built and I upgrade the 7870 to a gtx 770 or amd equivalent in price £250/£260 ill see if I can pic up summit like a
29 inch AOC IPS 2560x1080 Resolution seems to be on sale for £280 mark same price as some 32inch tv...

But will also look at the other monitors you guys have suggested

well I have a 32 inch 3d tv I run at 1080p from my 7950 it works very well I think its better to have one big display then two or thee displays with the bezel in the way

I play with multi-monitors and would highly recomend it. You really do forget those borders are there. you really only focus on the center one anyways. and then you gain awareness from your peripheral vision. 3 screens looks SOOOOOOOO good with War Thunder. and i play so much better. Be ready to feel a little motion sickness at first but you get used to it fast. AND ALSO if you ever decide to game on one screen. u have other screens to play movies or youtube videos and such to have going on while you game. I do it all the time. and i love it. a little insane but its good and fun
