Msi z77a club

I'm getting 1.3V for 4.6ghz, thinking of getting a new board the gd65 is dissapointing

my overclocks

4.3ghz 1.180V
4.4ghz 1.230V
4.5ghz 1.240v
4.6ghz 1.300V
4.7ghz 1.365V
4.8ghz 1.400V

It's the board not the chip I got 4.9ghz in my friends UD7 with 1.38V

Wow, lots of posts I just had to read. On the MSI boards, you want LLC set to 100%. That'll give you the least droop.
Yea, in my experience setting a lower vcore by tighening the LLC doesn't actually do what it says on the tin. I've found better results with LLC off (I wrote an article on it in my sig).

Is LLC at 100% the same as Level 7? I'm confusing myself now.

Just flashed mine to double check this:
100% = LLC on so I'd set it as low as possible.

Is that a 3570k or a 3770k? I'm running 4.4 at 1.2v completely stable on my 3570k, which is pretty normal. Which bios are you on? Because I'm sure I've seen lower volts clock for clock when I flashed to 10.6 from the original.

Guys i am not sure what to do ones in the Z77 club,
but i have the MSI Z77 GD45 and a i5 3570 ,

now overclocked to 4400Mhz Vcore is at 1.17
hardly had to do anything for it and it IS F@H 24/7 stable with 3x GTX460 on board 8gig corsair mem,

setup will get a bench/fold table later...,

I'll add a cpuZ SS in in a few minutes...
EDIT LOL that PSU is a 750w non brand :o

Running 3x460s on a no-brand PSU, Ray? I see you like to live life on the edge :)

What're your temps like on the CPU when folding?
Yea ;)

But it was in a "predator" rig from acer so it had to run 2x GTX580,
so i guess its a "good" non brand PSU , whatever that means...

Temps under load are,
51c to 55c...(fan is on the mobo so spinning at full)..

Z77A-GD65 + 3770k + Beta Bios E7751IMS V10.9B1

Hi guys, On my z77a-gd65 with latest beta bios I can only get 4.5 with 1.28 vcore with llc set to 100 percent and vdroop still drops to around 1.264 under load. Could this be because I am only using a 4 pin in the cpu power socket instead of a 8 pin ?

4.6 requires 1.325v in bios and is vdrooping to 1.312v with llc @ 100%

The above looks fine to me. I dont know why your vdroop is so much but i know that MSI boards handle the vdroop pretty well usually.

I would say that every chip is different and your temps at 4.6 look good. Id try and run IBT on very high and see what the temps top out at. id guess around 90.
1.325 for 4.6 isnt too bad.

is your main concern that the LLC is 100% but your still getting some vdroop?

My main concern is that the vdroop problem could be coming from using only a 4 pin connector in a 8 pin socket. IBT gives me a max of 78c @ 4.5 ghz when I havent got my heating on full blast

Well they seem like pretty good temps. If your not going higher on your multiplier does it matter? I can't answer whether its because your on 4pin or 8pin. I doubt it but I don't know enough to comment more on that.
Maybe borrow a PSU and see?

Let's hope that MSI brings out the same quality with Z87 :)

I am curious :D But i would expect a comparable range of boards.
I have just see some Z77 GD65 Gaming edition boards and boy they look nice ;) Not quite sure if the Killer Lan chip is going to improve the latency and stuff but i know there are ppl buying the board just because of that :D Regardless if there a benefit or not.
