MSI Z77 VS GIGABYTE Z68

Hey guys, I am getting a new motherboard and I only have a budget of about 80 pounds.

The 2 I have found so far are these

So which should I go for? Is there any others you can recommend?

MSI for sure. No point going Z68, it's outdated and no longer being produced. Plus you can't go wrong with an MSI Z77 board, they seem to be the best Z77 boards currently on sale

I agree with Petrol! Not worth going to the Z68 chipset.

Between those two..... the best MSI without a doubt!

I actaully like the look of the gigabyte board, but looking at other pictures the msi one looks damn sexy, for some reason dabs picture quality is utter sh*t

the top one looks just like some nice high quality stuff while the bottom one looks just cheap.

Personal opinion i guess, personally i like the white and blue combo on gigabyte boards

metallic blue on the msi looks great ^^" (have that board in front of me). also overclocks fine, and very easily too.not quite sure why it's so cheap to be honest!

I notice that the msi has a 24 pin connector and a 6 pin connector, My power supply only has a 20 pin connector and a 4 pin connector :/ would this still work

the msi actually has an 8-pin connector that i'm fairly sure you can plug in a 4-pin connector to. and just reading a little on the 'net says 20-pin into 24-pin is generally ok. but i think the more important question is, how old is your psu/what model is it?

Im not sure what model it is, I got it form one of my brothers mates when I first got into computers, Its a Thermeltake 500w one and I think its about 5 years old, Could I get a 4 pin to 8 pin cable and what that work?? One like this - http://www.maplin.co...=99521&t=module

Cram, would you say that the gigabyte one is better than the msi one?

i have both that z68 and the z77 gd55, tbh the gb has better quality chokes, caps and vrm but the 55 has twice as many with gives a better end result.

the d3 is by miles the best bang per buck z68 but as said why go 68 when 77 is the same money and offers more performance and better integrated chips?
