Hey everyone, new to MSI and it's configurations. I have done some oc'n and acquired lot's of patience working with EVGA's 790i Ultra.
My board set up fine, flashed to the latest bios 1.30 and have consistently booted into windows, however only with the memory at MSI's auto settings of 1067. If you check my sig. my mem is supposed to be stock 1333 @ 6-6-6-18 @ 1.7. After pulling both oc jumper pins the cpu fsb is at 400 x8 @3200 and I was able to set the memory to a 1.60 ratio getting 1290mhz @ 1.89 volts was able to boot into Vista even ran 3d Mark Vantage in CF mode. After shutting down for the night then firing back up this morning I have not been able to duplicate that, been resetting c-mos all day, glad its on the back I/O shield, hate that I have to reset time and the whole nine yards. All memory is good, been memtested v2.01 for at least 10 passes at manufacturers settings each stick. I have not tested each slot on the MB yet.
The voltage issue is that I am lost with some of the voltage like, MCH, ICH and I notice that the MCH even has a GTL Ref, where the CPU only has 2 GTL Ref lanes 0 + 1 with no -mv settings which usually help stabilty issues during oc of 45nm CPU's on other reference boards and usually has 4 CPU GTL Ref lanes 0 + 1 + 2 + 3.
PLEASE, ANY AND ALL HELP WELCOME.
I like this P45 Diamond board and will be patient and persistent, just need a little guidance and a push in the right direction.
