Moving from AMD to Intel - MoBo advice

I know the PCMR is always looking out for each other but I have decided the best case for me is to move from my AMD 8320FX over to a 7700K.

I've never been on the Intel side so was after some advice.

I remember watching TTL's video on SandyBridge, when he discovered that you didn't need a really expensive motherboard to get a good OC - Does this still hold true with KabyLake?

My budget is really around the £100 Mark for a Z270 MoBo.

I don't really want to go Z170 as I'm hoping the 270 chipset will support CoffeeLake

Why not go with 7600K and a better board? If you use your system mainly for gaming you won't get any relevant performance boost with 7700K. It depends on the GPU you are using, and the rest of the components.

On overclockers the cheapest z270 board is 112.99, and it is usually smart not to go with the cheapest stuff. Aim mid range. So 7600k with mid range board is bang on.

Better boards are about layouts and features.

You may get the same OC but Id not know if stressing the power delivery would last years. We normally pay for better componentry for long term peace of mind....
