Moving/Copying OS

I hope this is in the correct category.
I have my OS on my standard HDD as my SSD bit the dust a while ago. I then bought an SSD. I am wanting to copy everything from hdd-ssd without having to re-install windows/re-activate. Is there an easy way around this that Is effective or do I have to go through the monotony of doing a fresh install again.

I'm guessing you could use something like Freefilesync and mirror the entire hdd on the ssd. Afterwards change your drive letter assignments so your programs still work
