Motherboard with SLI/crossfire

Hey guys, i have an intel dp35dp motherboard and i was thinking about buying another video card but i'm not sure if i'm able to connect 2 or more video cards at a time on this board (mostly because i'm a noob :) ). I've read a review on it that said you can't connect 2 video cards on it but i have a schematic of my mainboard where it shows that i have 1 pci express x16 slot and 3 pci slots and 2 pci express x1 slots. Shouldn't i be able to connect more video cards on the other 3 pci slots?

I guess you are running a core 2 cpu? If so the only way is to replace the motherboard as said. Also, on core 2 I am 99.9% sure that you cannot get a board that will run both SLI and Xfire. IIRC that was only introduced on the X58 chipset.

Depending on what video card you are running it might be worth tracking a board down. Socket 775 boards can be picked up for an absolute bargain now.

Earliest boards that did both were the X58's - ie i7.

Umm yea there was something about getting some board to run xfire and sli via hack. but I was referring those boards with a card that you could flip depending if u want xfire or sli. umm let me look for a link http://goo.gl/4ta8 and http://goo.gl/puZ7. But this stuff is obsolete now

Actually I have found 50 in stock :D Refurb, though. But still, I'm sure you get a warranty.

Wish I had known about that. Might have kept my core 2.

Best off picking which cards you want to go for. I love the 775 platform because the cpus are so cheap. I bought an e3200 celeron dual core a few months back £30...have it at 3.6 rock solid.
