motherboard 24 pin and 4/8 pin

well i saw someone post in a thread about hiding the wires inside the a pc case and was thinking what would stop you from re soldering the 24 pin and 4/8 pin on the other side of the pcb so you would then in turn lose a fair amount of wires from the front side of board.

my thinking was to solder a small piece of wire to the board and then crimp terminals to the other end to place back into the socket that was on the face of the motherboard. id guess you would still need to solder the wire from the back side of the motherboard but i dont see that causing an issue

i guess you could also so do the same with other ports on the board
 
someone already did it, I can't remember in which thread I saw it, if someone can point you in the right direction.
 
Yeah you can't really remove the socket from the board as it's a specialist surface mount piece, all you need is a 24pin Male socket and as you said soder to the rear solder points. You could always make some caps that would cover the original sockets and it would look neater.
