Most Reliable 120-128 GB SSD?

Today, I've found my SSD dead ( AS USUAL ) ... This is the third time this has happened, I've gotten it replaced 2 other times, all 3 only worked up to 1 week - 1 month. I have a Mushkin Chronos 120 GB. I'm tired of this one dying all the time, so I would like to go out and buy one that is more reliable. Any suggestions?
 
Crucial M4s are the most reliable SSDs...

The only one close in terms of reliability is the Intel 520 series which are double the price
 
Intel I believe are the most reliable SSD manufacturer, but more expensive than other brands.

Crucial M4 drives and Samsung drives are also good and known for there reliability.

Personally at the moment Crucial M4 drives are a really good price, so that would be my recommendation.

The Kingston HyperX looks pretty tempting.. but it's $50 more than the Crucial. I mean price to reliability is something I should decide on, I guess I'll do some more reviewing before I choose one or the other.
 
If you look at returns as a percentage of drives sold the two most reliable by a fair margin are Intel and Samsung. I have a samsung 830 myself and have found it to be a great drive.

The Crucial M4s are up there too, and at 3/4s of the price they've always seemed a better option to me. My advice is always stay away from anything with sandforce and you're fine

I hope you have found your answer, what SSD did you decide to go for after all? I too am choosing one, and cannot decide whether the Crucial, Corsair or Samsung. Price difference ranges between £8, so that doesn't bother me. I am upgrading from 750GB WD Caviar Green, so there will be huge difference anyway. I just dont want to run into troubles in months to come.. Just want a reliable STABLE SSD really. Which one?

None of those will disappoint you.

But, when you say £8 difference between all...? I find that very hard to believe. If you are looking at intel, you need the 520 series, not the 330. The 330 controller is purely sandforce whereas the 520 was a collaboration between intel and sandforce and so is better and more reliable. But, that is normally far far more expensive (around £140 for 128gb when i last checked)

The samsungs are also reliable so there is another option there...

All 3 will be reliable. With Intel and Samsung you're paying more for the name and the 'extra speed'. My advice is ignore stated read and write max speeds because yes, on that the crucial is the slowest. But in 4k operations which is what windows uses anyway, any differences are usually in crucials favour, but it really doesnt make a difference.

If you are right and the Intel or Samsungs are only £8 more, then go with them. But I find that hard to believe for the same storage size as the crucial, so I'd always recommend crucial.
 
No, I didn't notice the intel in my choices, you see, I can't afford to spend hundreds of pounds on upgrading my PC all the time, as I used to... I have different hobbies to spend on nowadays. SSD is the last improvement for my PC now, and I was looking to spend max £100. My options therefore are: Corsair Force 3, Corsair Force GT, Samsung 830 or Crucial M4. I am a bit worried about the SandForce controller on Corsair drives, hence deciding between the Samsung and Crucial. Using my PC for gaming, I only want to cut the loading time for BF3 and make the system quicker overall. I think I will go with the Samsung after all.
 
Sorry, I misread the post! Thought you said intel!

I agree about the Sandforce, I'm staying away from them from now on too.

I have an M4 myself, never had any issues with it. It uses a marvel controller as did the old kingstons, and i have one of them too which has lasted me 4 years with no problems so far.

I'd say the M4 because I think it's as good as the Samsung, and they both have good reviews, so I'd save the £8!
 
I have no problem's recommending the Corsair Force 3 drives, I have 2x 120GB in raid 0 using the onboard controller on my motherboard and they are fine.

Not sure why Crystalmark report's the speed's as being so low but ATTO report's them as accurate.

I would recommend any of the new SF based Intel SSDs if you're looking for reliability. Both the 520 and 330 series are SF based, and the average user will get similar performance from either. Other than that, besides maybe Samsung or Crucial, picking any of the others is a crapshoot.
