Monitors going into power saving mode

Not sure if this is exactly the right place to post, but recently I've been having a few problems. Occasionally, my monitor will randomly go into power saving mode, sometimes on bootup or at a complete random point in time (occurs much more often on bootup). I've made sure all the power saving options are off and set never to put the computer to sleep, and I've also tried different DVI cables and different monitors, and also tried the onboard graphics, yet it still persists.

There's nothing in Event Viewer that indicates anything went wrong on that level, so I'm beginning to think it's mobo/PSU/CPU related, seeing as onboard graphics also do not work. Also, the computer does not power off or sleep, it stays in the same state it was in before the monitor turns itself off, the fans still spin at the same speed etc, so it seems the monitor just suddenly loses signal, and I cannot turn the system off unless I do a hard reboot, and then it's all working fine again.

Only one I've got unfortunately, problem is it doesn't happen often enough for an RMA (happens once, twice per month roughly), but it does do it enough to be annoying.
