the most economical route would be an x800xl 
the cheapest 6800 gt on newegg is 354 or something dollars . my x800xl was 289 . When slightly overclocked it matches or beats my 6800 GT's oc . One i get down to getting an ATI silencer then maybe we will see some pencil volt mods
. would be fun , its a cheap card so i really dont mind playing with it .
