ML120 Pro vs SP120 RGB

Ok I’ve googled my eyes out til they’ve bled, I can’t seem to find a direct comparison. I’m currently running 6 SP120 RGB on my Corsair 570X 5 intake top/front (this was done for looks so you see the fan not the back on the top) and one exhaust on the rear. My temps are fine but feel could be slightly better. 51c cpu 43c gpu during a several hour long gaming session. They run at about 900-1000 rpm and fir the most part are quiet to me. They have a mmh2o of 1.45 which of course is at full speed of 1400rpm so I’m just licking at that max mmh2o.

Now I understand that the ML120 Pro have a mmh2o of 4.2 at max 2400rpm which is triple the mmh2o. And are reportedly quiet up to around 1200-1300 rpm which is roughly half max rpm so guesstimating it’s about 2.1mmh2o.

Ok so now you know I’ve done my research lol anybody here used the ml’s or both that can give a real experience opinion of if it’s worth it for me to change fans and would it drops temps the way my mind is thinking it should.

Other info 30mm tick rads 240 & 360 cpu 4.9 @ 1.335 vcore gtx1080 oc’d To 2139 core with no extra voltage.

Only reason I see to change is noise. SP120s do pack a whallop but you can hear the effort too.

Performance wise, I can't see your temps dropping more than 1 or 2 % really. I went from SP120 > EK Vardar > ML 120.

I changed to vardar due to the aquaaero preferring PWM fans over 3pin, but since the Vardars when hooked to a splitter caused terrific frequency whine, I swapped them for the ML120 to which I am happy.

performance wise is a tiny bit better. Sound wise its a fantastic improvement.
Cost wise?... maybe not worth it unless you have money to splash. My opinion to you though, based on your radiator and current temps would be stick with what you have. SP120s are still great performers.

4.9 @ 1.33V under load and only getting temps in the 50s is insanely good.

Got about 1/2 the cost covered with amazon gift card. So out of pocket expense won’t be much.

The MagLev fans are currently Corsairs best performing fans for all out static pressure -

120mm ML Pro = 4.2mmH20 - 3.0mmH20 on the 140mm model

120mm SPRGB = 1.45MMH20

And also the best fan for airflow in Corsairs lineup -

120mm ML Pro = 75CFM - 97CFM on the 140mm model

120mm Air Series AF = 63CFM

When it comes to SP + airflow performance I'd personally go for the ML Pro's, I have both the ML Pro 140's and HDRGB 120/140's, For all out performance the ML Pro's kick ass and if that's what you are after then it's a no brainer purchase :)

Yeah I’m thinking real hard on it. Wish they had an rgb version so they can move with the theme but I’m good with red since it’s a true red unlike back in the day red was pink

Ok 6 ML120 Pro red ordered. At least it’s amazon so if I don’t like them I can send em back.
