mixing ram

with my new pc i got 4gb of muskin blackline. runs at 1.5v at 1600mhz 9-9-9-24 etc. was looking at this kit to add to my pc http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Memory+-+RAM/DDR3/Dual+Channel+-+%281600MHz%29/8GB+Mushkin+Enhanced+Blackline+Frostbyte+%23996995+%282x4GB%29+1600+%28PC3-12800%29+240-Pin+DDR3+SDRAM+CAS+9-9-9-24+1.5V+?productId=44336 would i have any problems due to mixing 4 gb sticks with 2 gb sticks or would it be fine?

It's said that mixing ram sticks isn't the best idea and can cause problems, i've never done it myself, i'd just get another 2 x 2gb sticks, unless you actually need more than 8gb ram.
 
As long as it is the same speed and has the same timings, most of the time they work fine with no problems. I have had no problems myself with mixing different kits, so I would say it would be fine.
 
ive tried looking on aria for the same ram kit as i currently have but i cant seem to find it

ill try it and see how it goes. any problems ill just take out the old sticks

When I had my Q6600 rig I had two different sticks of ram but they had the same voltage and timings and I never had any probs in the year and half I had the rig. The thing with RAM is, it's all the same, 1600mhz 1.65v 9-9-9-24 is 1600mhz 1.65v 9-9-9-24 no matter what brand it is, as long as you don't mix timings and voltages you will be fine.
