There was a great deal on newegg for gskill 16GB(2x8GB) DDR3 RAM with
I bought it and then checked my specs for my mobo: ASRock 970Extreme3R2. It Support DDR3 2100+(OC)/1866(OC)/1800(OC)/1600(OC)/1333/1066/800 non-ECC, un-buffered memory.
My current memmory is 8GB(4x2GB) DDR3 with
I do not want to overclock anything that would void my mobo warranty but just get it setup for the best performance within standard specs. I do overbuy on my memory specs, so I can use them in the future. My Question are:
Is it ok that the voltages are different or should they both be set to 1.5v and will the system make the adjustment?
I know the system will set all modules to lowest speed but should still get 1333MHz. Always confused: will 2 different pairs of matched modules run in dual channel mode?
If each pair is OC to different MHz speeds (eg 1600 & 2100MHz), Can they still run in dual channel mode?? And will that void mobo warranty?
TIA - Thanks in advance
- DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000)
