Microsoft targets the mobile web with "Silverlight"

isn't silverlight that rubbish thing they try to push on developers with visual studio 2008? :(

from what I've read it sounds a bit rubbish and buggy, also seems to use activex

I'm not exactly a fan of using flash as a basis of a website, but it is ok for stuff like advertising and header images.

Will this stand a chance at gaining a foothold with Adobe's Flash already so widely used?

What you have to appreciate is that if m$ want it to have a foothold, they will find a way of getting one. Whether it`s successful or treads on some companies along the way - if they`re serious about it, it`ll happen.

Always wondered about LG phones. Think I`m due an upgrade tbh, losing interest in smartphones.

I've had 2 LGs and wouldn't recommend them.. Poor reception and broke quite quickly.

tbh idk, personally i think it will be, but i think it will be more than enough. I think the announcement and debut is tomorrow so we will find out.

imo get an ipod touch like $50 cheaper + no contract + Slimmer only difference is that you can't ring anybody.

Not keen on the touch.. mainly because you pay £100 more for just a touch screen.. with only like 16GB of storage.

Grab a Ipod Classic for £140 and get yourself 80GB. w00t..

After all it is an MP3 player.. so you want it to hold your MP3s. :)

Fair enough I just found with my old ipod I never really used it as I never JUST listen to music so with my ipod touch I can listen to music and "surf the web"

I might get an iPhone if they manage 3G and actually have a contract at a 1/2 decent price

I`ve not been touched by 3G at all.

As something that people look out for in a phone - why ? As opposed to one without. (cos I don`t know tbh)

i use mobile tinterweb a fair bit, but my phone only has edge, which i hardly ever pick up. Anyone know what the speed diff between edge and 3g is?
