Maybe I'll just wait a bit longer and see how this pans out. I've got plenty of games to keep me busy on PC and PS4 anyway. Not to mention the TV series I need to catch up on. And the pile of books...
I was considering getting an Xbox One X at some point in the future after selling my Xbox One to friend over Christmas (their kid wanted one, so I let it go cheap).

Makes you wonder how it will effect actual Xbox sales if they go this route, though would that be countered by games sales increasing but they need better exclusives PS wins on the better exclusives atm
Depends on the cost of equivalent hardware.
I saw a few people on YT trying to build a $500 PC to match the 1x and they all failed. None of them could run above about 10 FPS at 4k, even with the graphics as low as they could be.
That made the 1x somewhat of a bargain for 4k, which is why I got one.
Prices have dropped a bit since then, but for low 4k settings you need something like a 1060/1070 so that's over half of your budget gone there.
How many people game @4K though, one of the things I don't like with consoles is the online if you want it you have to pay not only for the game but also XB live or ps plus on a pc it's only the game and chances are you'd get the game cheaper on pc than on console
