[Memory] Wots are the best Gig stick available atm..?

Hi,

I need to order 2x1Gb sticks of memory within the next 6 hours and was wondering what is the best out there atm..?

My sticks are the best out there - corsair XMS pro (with flashy lights) PC4400 - currently running 270mhz 2.5-3-2-5 - these sticks are rare though mate, mine were purchased as a review sample 2nd hand - I aint seen em new anywhere.

GSKILL ZX are good price/performance- will do 215mhz 2-3-2-5, up to 250mhz 2.5-3-2-5 and up to 265mhz 3-2-3-5

For 300mhz FSB you have to be looking at Mushkin, OCZ or GSKILL HZ PC4000 - most sticks will do this at 3-3-3-8.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

Mav

PS: 2.5-3-2-5 is a great timing - not much penalty over CAS2 ;)

HZ wont make 300 at those timings, 3,4,4,x is a possibility, but even then you're pushing things.

Always thought the ZX had "issues" running over ~ 235-240 fsb with any timings, or has this changed in the newer batches?

Ram to get lower/cheaper end Gskill HZ aint bad, have a kit running 265 3,4,3,x not the best of timings, but not bad for the cash.

Otherwise OCZ EB or Mushkin Redline kits based off infineon CE-6/5 seem to hold tight timings at high FSB's ( this is whats in Mav's ram) the ZX has them too, but as mentioned above for some reason doesnt seem to clock quite as well as other modules...

Gskill ZX.? i heard that the HX is the one to buy...

Well tvh i like OCZ and will prob buy that if thats the case...

@ sacha, wot r the best timings u can manage @ 200 fsb..?

I run this ram 1-1 allways and the best i have done is setting it up with A64 when running PI, the timmings i can get is 2.5-3-3-3-7-12 @ 294MHz, but as said it will do 280MHz all day long at 2,5-3-3-5-7-12 with just 2.66 volts

My ZX (now nick25's) ran 250mhz 2.5-3-2-5 (purchased in February this year) Fatties also performs in a similar way so I guess the answer is yes they are much improved.

@ animal - never tried to go beyond 2-3-2-5-7-10 @ 2.65v - I dont stay at 200mhz for long ;)
