Memory Voltage

Hi

First posting so go easy!

I have an ASRock P4i65G (yes I know!) and need more memory. I have 1gb (2 x 512mb) at the moment and am looking to get 1 x 1gb (Ebay!) Does it matter if the memory is sold at 2.5v as opposed to the 2.6v I have at the moment or not? Don't really want to fork out a lot of money for something that will do the same as other memories please.

Thanks

You should be fine.

isn't the offical DDR spec 2.5v?

Does the motherboard give you voltage control in the bios?

Ham - thanks for your response.

Without knowing the technical ins/outs of my motherboard, i could not tell you whether it does this in the Bios! Having said that you are right in saying that all DDR RAMs are 2.5v so can safely assume that the intended memory chip will be ok for my board.

Thanks and Happy New Year

You should run a OCZ ram cooler to give your ram some air to remove the heat, then you may be able to push the ram more.
