Memory Timings

Hi there

I thought that I would start a new thread about memory timing

This is what I have got

2-3-3-6

Is that good. average??

pretty bloody good m8. Not sure what optimal timings are on amd 64 though, I know on the xp's lower was not always better

for an intel rig ras to cas is very important.

its not only the timings (the obvious 4 ) but others that affect the mem performance as well.

the best timings to go for an intel rig would be 2 2 2 5 which is what my bh 5 can do as well as some rare ch 5 modules.

then 2.5 2 2 5(or 6) would still be fast even though cas latency is set to 2.5 from 2...ras to cas remains @ 2 though.

so yeah 2 3 3 6 would be still fast if you got a high fsb of 250+mhz

ocz is coming with some new EB 3700 modules that can do 533mhz iirc @ 2.5 2 2 5...

i think i may for these sticks myself...and have some fun with my rigs :D...

i have up'ed the FSB to 220 and it would not boot. :(

So I have started again

my settings are 2.5-3-3-6 with a FSB 220

Also. my memory is getting bloody hit. is that OK

timings are even more important for an amd rig. althou8gh on nforce2 boards they yeild best performance at 2-2-2-then 11 for some reason.

not at the moment buddy....

maybe if the ocz 3700 EB comes out but still not sure...its very hard to find some good clocking bh 5 sticks...

for 1:1 clocking then the 4200 EL is great as far as i know from OCZ...

push some extra volts and it will fly.

i have faith on the new 3700EB modules though from ocz...the kick some serious £$*% man with their timings and high fsbs

they will be expensive though from what i hear....

it all depends on your cpu max stable fsb really....once you establish that then we can discuss whats gonna suit you best :)

GeIL 512MB (2x256MB) PC3500 Golden Dragon CAS2 (GD3500-512DC) (MY-012-GL)

GeIL 512MB (2x256MB) PC3500 Golden Dragon CAS2 (GD3500-512DC) (MY-012-GL)

Would these be any good.

I have this at the moment TwinMOS 512MB (2x256MB) DDR PC3200 Dual Channel Kit (MY-006-TM)

well i ave a 3.0c sl6wu costa rica (12caps) which is at 4.2 in my system not 2 sure if its 100% stable atm as ive boxed up my mach due 2 decoratin my room. but that was at 280 fsb. i want sum ram that will run tight timings at 300fsb (5:4). ive been lookin at Corsair 1GB DDR XMS3200LLPT TwinX (2x512MB) CAS2 which ive heard are bh-5 / bh-6 any1 kno wat these chips are? and how high i could go on a 5:4 divider?
