Memory Mystery

Hi everyone,

I have a bit of a mystery here, My windows explorer thinks I have 8Gb of memory which is true. However my taskmanager is telling me I have only 2Gb.

Cpu-Z thinks I have 8Gb.

MSI Control center thinks I have 8Gb.

MSI Bios thinks I have 8Gb.

I have attached a screenshot of a dutch version of windows.

Geheugen = Memory.

Totaal = Total.

That concludes our little dutch lesson.

Does anyone have a clue what's causing this ?

lol had to pull up my task manager to see what mine showed and it shows my full 4GB weird issue ya got there bro not sure why it would be doing that. is this the first time you've seen this??? has a reboot showed different??

It's the first time I have had this issue !

It's been like this for a couple of weeks now haha.

Lol I just tested it with a blend test in prime95 and it just gets to 1.97 Gb.

So I guess I have to take care of this problem !

The weird thing is I have 2 sticks of 4Gb so it's only recognizing a half stick haha.

I have encountered this problem once before with a PC at my work, after flashing the latest bios on that computer it solved the problem .

I will try that with this computer too as a new BIOS has just been released.

I will report back as soon as possible !

EDIT: I flashed the new BIOS and it didn't fix anything.

I am buying a SSD soon and have to reinstall windows in the hope that fixes things.

In the meantime I can live with 2Gb.

Very odd, maybe faulty board

Although it would give me the chance to pick a new mobo not very happy with this one.
