Memory Issues (Could be some sort of RAM Leak)

Hello!

(System Spec at the bottom, Long post)

I've got an issue with my computer the last 2 weeks and have tried to find a solution to this matter by either searching and/or attempting to fix this my self:

After a boot-up, I used to have about 1.6gb usage of memory to begin with, now I'm start above 2.6gb, close to 3gb sometimes.
And if I'm going to play, let's say CS:GO, it takes me about two competitive matches ( approximately 40min each) and the game turn out to drop down to 15-20 fps from 200fps with almost everything at top graphic setup.
By just aiming around the map, walking, looking etc. the sound struggles to keep on, the frames drops extremely fast by looking around.

If I'm going to play solo games like Kingdom of Amalur, it works just fine, same with the movies, but just about 2 hour after I get up to 7gb of usage (after closing the softwares).
Nothing but Spotify, Avast! and skype is running in the background, which has never (to me) reached above 3gb ram of usage.

If I leave my computer on for the day when I'm at work, and get back (8 hours later), I sometimes can't open up task manager to see the performance tab nor resource monitor.
Everything just stops, even my Motherboard's software platform AI Suite 2.

So yeah, it's basically going upward with usage after time, sometimes with high amount of cache stored and mostly without much stored, which ends up to 20mb ram in the end left to be used, without having barely any softwares running in the background.

I have Cleaned my computer with Avast!, MalwareBytes, MyDefrag, Window's Defrag, CCleaner, updating the OS.
I have cleaned ghost updates (Out-dated updates that takes space without being used).
I have cleaned the disks with Disk-Cleanup.
I have removed old files like videos, pictures, stack of mp3's, games and other softwares.
I have not attempted yet to clean my computer for dust, which has been 3 months ago since I cleaned my computer the last time. (Yeah, I know.. I was doing that monthly before but I've gotten quite lazy at it)

I have also updated the hardwares like GPU, Mobo etc.

So I'd like to know, what other possibilities are there to be helpful in this situation?
Any tip, help, links etc. would be helpful.

I have also tried on Tomshardware.uk.co, but got only a question back about processes by memory usage.

If you open task manager, click show processes from all users, and sort by memory utilization what are your top offenders?

(This is the answer I had to that guy on the other forum)

If the computer has been on for minimum 6 hours straight, this would be the numbers.

That would be Spotify.exe, in the end that would be using about 170 ***K Usage.
The others would be: Skype.exe at 120 ***K usage and SpotifyHelper.Exe at 37 ***K to 40 ***K Usage.

By sometimes using softwares like Teamspeak/ventrilo during online gaming with friends, I stay at 170 *** - 190 ***K at Svchost.exe, and after stopping it, it'll go down to around 120 ***K usage.
Svchost.exe usually runs at 25 ***K without running others than Spotify, Skype, Chrome and Avast! in the background.

Right after boot-up:
Spotify.exe 134 ***K
Skype.exe 102 ***K
SpotifyHelper.exe 37 ***K
AvastSvc.exe 28 ***K
Svchost.exe 25 ***K

System spec:

Operative System:
-Windows 7 Ultimate (64bit)

Hardware:
-Kingston HyperX 3K SSD 120GB 2.5"
-I got 2 other HDD's, one of them is 10 years old or even older, but don't know the name of it.
-Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600MHz 8GB CL9
-Sapphire Radeon HD 7970 GHz 3GB GDDR5
-ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z, Socket-AM3+
-AMD FX-8350 8-Core Processor
-Chieftec Nitro Series BPS-750C 750W PSU

Thanks in advance.

Have you tried hitting the memok button on your motherboard? Do it then go in windows and game a bit see if the issue persists

All right, I'll test it out. It could take between 30min to 1 1/2 hours, maybe, to see if it still persists though.

All right, after a few hours session of gaming, I have now noticed that on Cs:go it hasn't been affected by the issues as it was before, I haven't been playing and testing it out since Monday after doing all what I've done listed above.

But the memory still stands up-high after Softwares being turned off and closed completely.

2.60Gb of ram usage after boot-up (Right after MemOK), went above to 3.05 GB within 15min.
But now, after another 6 hours of running, the memory are running at 95 MB "Hardware Reserved", 5485 MB "In use", 63 MB "Modified", 1399 MB "Standby" and 1143 "Free".

It is still increasing by the time even though Steam, Skype, Spotify and Malwarebytes has been shut off and controlled the Avast! for scanning schedule (Just to make sure it wasn't running at this time I were about to check the memory status).

Update -

This issue still persists and I would appreciate any help at all!

Thanks in advance.

Do you have the same problem when using any Linux live session?

Also, clean your PC. It's not going to solve your problem but it'll be better for your hardware in the long-run :p

I had a little cleanup yesterday actually, not completely.. but I'll be doing so in a day or two.
Just want to be sure that I got CPU Pasta before i clean the system for both GPU and CPU.

And about the Linux Live Session, I haven't been close to Linux in about.. 6 years or so.. so it'll be, I don't know, or I wouldn't know for sure how it'd be.

Run memtest for a good few hours and report back. When this happened to me (on my ol' 8320 rig) I initially went back to an earlier backup of my OS and that fixed it. After a while however I started getting BSODs and after testing my RAM I found out that it was the problem.

Yeah, I getting it to run but I found out yesterday that I didn't have compatible CD's to burn it on with, so I had to go to the shop and get myself an USB driver since I couldn't find my old one. Will be either late today or tomorrow for the report then.

It sounds from the very beginning like a RAM failure. Can you claim warranty for the modules?

Well, I just tried with the company online and they only told me to send it back to them for a check, and I'll get an e-mail as an answer if it'll be a refund, new set of RAM bricks or compensated by sending me another set of RAM by the same value and DDR slot.

So, this'll take a few days before I'll get to know if there's anything wrong with them or not if I'll do that, But I'd really like to go trough all the options I have before i send them back in to the company i brought them from.

All right, I did let it run for about 44 hours straight, this picture was taken after the first work day was done.. just to be sure in case i didn't get any notes or reports afterward. After i stopped the process at 44hours, the computer restarted itself and went into another mode of memtest, gathering information about different drives, cpu, ram and all that.

All right, I'm sorry for nagging, but I'd like to know if you got any clue out of my last reply?

I've been awaiting for answers before i go for my other option which is by sending my RAM to the shop where I bought these from, since I still have my warranty on this up'n'running.

Once again, sorry for nagging about this.

Memory sticks switched (Borrowed)

All right, I've been testing out with some new set of RAM, Crucial Ballistic 1866mhz 8GB memory.

The computer still acts as it was with the previous ram installed (Listed above on top), it's running at 6gb with only Skype, Spotify and CCleaner running in the background, which should not fill up from 2.5 gb to 6 gb usage.

This computer has been running for 6 hours, starting up at 1.8gb usage -> loading all startup -> lands on approximately 2.4/2.6 gb usage of memory.
After 6 hours, it has reached up to 6gbit and won't go down.:angry:

I have also cleaned my GPU properly, completely empty for dust and cleaned 100% for old Thermal Paste and had a new thermal paste on the GPU's CPU.

Cleaned PSU, MOBO, FANS and the CASE for dust (Opening what all that could be opened with care), even the Water cooling system.

The computer did run smoothly to begin with, but after an hour or two, it started to act like it did with the other set of RAM installed.

What options is there for me to do or to check out?

I was planning on running another Memtest, MemOK, CCleaner, MyDefrag, standard Defrag (window's standard software) and cleanup (will be the fourth time this software be running after I've created this Thread).

Once again, Thanks in advance !:)
