Memory controller problems

Wondering if i've got a dodgy memory controller is going down the swanny

First off I have got Dubz Foxconn which his had to 279MHz FSB but i'm struggling to break 220MHz. I was playing last night on my Biostar and was getting lots of cold and warm boot issues at anything other than 200MHz FSB. I am also experiencing problems on the Foxconn.

I have tried 200Mhz with a 250 divider so memories at 250MHz but getting BSODs and warm boot issues.

I was getting memory errors in memtest last night at 250Mhz at 3-4-4-8 1T. I have also tried running various dividers etc unsuccesfully.

the CPUs was capable of 300*9 in my shuttle but the clocks have been gradually getting less and less

it was never run with a lot of voltage either usually a small bump.

I have tried all sorts of combinations and none seem to work. I have ruled out memory becuase this is new memory and tried running it on a 100 Divider.

Think I will need to get another CPU to test but from where I don't know....

Gonna prime it at stock and memtest it to see if throws any errors.

PSU is an Enermax Liberty 500w which is running 3.32v, 5.03v and 12.18v under load (DMM readings).

Tried switching multi to 5x and 230 and its hanging on boot. I have even tried running a 2:1 divider at 230 to rule memory out and same result

.

What are peoples thoughts?

It doesnt sound good for the memory controller :( How long have you had it?

What RAM voltages have you been using? I`ve read stories about CPUs dying if the VDIMM is >3.2V but the CPU voltage is 1.3-1.45V

What cooling are you using?

IF it's mach cooled - could be a condensation issue which is not terminal yet, check it out and report back if it is. You will need to stick the board in an airing cupboard overnight (or other nice warm environment) to dry out also suggest going over the socket with a warm hair dryer)

Have you tried different memory sticks or just one stick at a time in different slots?

Reflash the MOBO BIOS (if it's stable enough to do so)

Memory voltages have been around 2.9v usually 2.8v as thats what most of the mATX boards are capable of :(

I've had it about 8-9mths I suppose.

Cooling has been either a XP120, Shuttle ICE system (new ones are very good!) or an FX-55 stock cooler (41c under load at the mo)

What tests should I run to check it?

Ta :)

Thats not stories, thats the truth.

Sorry, thats the way I talk about stuff- I cant say for sure coz it hasnt happened to me, even though I trust these peoples experiences. :)
