Member of the month

However, I would like to see some suggestions for a 'member reward' system though, so if anyone has any ideas let's get a thread started and we can see whats possible.

How about a member of the month, if could include nominations, like how much you help people, or something like that, the winner could get the name on the forum at the top like Current Member of the month: Brooksie and some mini prizes.

Only got a vauge idea, feel free to add anymore improvements.

Sounds good. Maybe we could have a vote too, after nominations, or Jim and the other staff could choose. There could also be different categories, like most helpful, or most active etc.

This has been suggested in the past and although it is a nice idea, we do have reps for helpful posts/people. I don't have an issue with it so long as it doesn't become merely a popularity contest, but remains focused on those who contribute significantly towards the community/forum's development.

I think the rep system is fine enough. Anyone who's here for a short period of time will discover who the active/helpful members are, without them needing a star

Hmm I don't really like the idea tbh. I think one of the nice aspects of OC3D is the fact no one tries to be 'the man', really seperate himself. Putting someone in the spotlights like that is nice of course, but it really sets him out of the mass.

Agree with Monkey. Also people like me would never be able to win the rig of the month...unless someone somehow I win a PC!

also i never paid attention to these things like the member of the month etc, anyways its better this way, no one better than anyone, like in the oc3d thread, that's what make a great comunity :worship:

just post a page with the top 10 rep earners for that month or something along the lines. I like the idea of the rep system. Keeps things simple without too much hassle.

+1 on that. I joined a few other forums but this is the one I enjoy the most. Layed back and very friendly here. Everyone here is very helpful and they don't put anyone down.

+1. Reps can be used as a 'thanks' and definitely marks someone as experienced but I think that is already enough.

I do encourage people to use the rep system though, I do not think it's used frequently enough. When someone helps you out, use the rep button

Yeah I agree with monkey, and as for rig of the month - if someone spent loads of money on it then it would be a waste to give them more stuff! They obviously didn't need it...

That's exactly my opinion too. To give other things to those who maybe already have it or don't need it.

Lets not make this forum nothing more than a competition between members who has more money than others. Lets keep it friendly just the way it always was.
